See the bottom for snippets of info. For those who don't feel like searching:
Batman: Year One - Eminem rumored to be considered to play the young Dark Knight.
Spiderman #3 - Two baddies, The Rock or Vin Diesel as Venom and Christian Bale or Sam Rockwell as Carnage. I think Diesel and Bale actually aren't bad choices, so I guess this isn't too terrible.
And last and definitely worst
Scary Movie 3 - Kevin Smith, you read that correctly, has signed on to co-write and produce the third installment of this aborted fetus of a film franchise.

edit: Ahem

I swear on the name of all that is holy, if that blonde haired little shit is cast as Batman, I will kill whoever is responsible.

The first one is utter nonsense. Both Miller and Aronofsky have isnisted that a new face or near-unknown will fill Batman's cape.

And the second better not be true. Not because of the actors, but because of Carnage. What an awful, awful, paper-thin character.

vin diesel should not play Venom. eddie brock is a white boy, and Venom should be computerized. and Carnage is a great character. He's exactly what he needs to be: scary.

The Eminem Batman sounds downright awful, but the Spiderman script sounds pretty cool. Not necessarily because of Vin Diesel (Who isn't a bad choice), but Venom is a classic character. I never liked Carnage, but he seems to be popular with some. All comic movies should be taken with a grain of salt. Remember before Batman and Robin came out and everyone was talking about Howard Stern as the Scarecrow? Don't believe it until you see a studio press release. If I had a dollar for every time I heard there was going to be a 4th Back to the Future... I wasn't particularly fond of the first Scary Movie and I didn't even bother with the second (But Andy Richter did tempt me,) but Kevin Smith could save it.

He was too underdeveloped and cartoony. At least for me. That, and the fact they used him seemingly every other issue for almost five years straight. Christ.

The thing that scares me about this is not the actors they're optioning or the characters that they're writing. It's that, if this is true, it seems Spiderman is in danger of falling down the same abyss that the Batman movies fell into - namely the More Characters, Less Writing trade-off. <P>
Here's a breakdown: Batman 1 - 1 hero, 1 villain, great script; Batman 2 - 1 hero, 2 villains, okay script; Batman 3 - 2 heroes, 2 villains, weak script; and Batman 4 - 3 heroes, 3 villains, script that wouldn't even be good as toilet paper. <P>
I hope they don't pull this for Spiderman. They need to keep the writing strong and not try to fill a weak script up with a bunch of thin characters. <P>

Eminem as a young Batman. Hmmm...that's a twist. Who's the arch-enemy in that one, Mom?

Nah, Triumph and his henchvegan, Moby. And their gang won't weigh more than 110 pounds wet. Together. Just how Em likes it.
