The sports guys did their 1 million listener pledge thingy recently. Everyone says no way they did that. But Isn't a million listeners like a 1.5 rating?

Also, DJ's often may talk about a station going to a "standards" format. What does STANDARDS mean, is it the same as top 40?

Although I understand the methodology used in obtaining the statistics, I've always been curious as to exactly what the points and shares mean.

It seems from a review of the Arbitron site that ratings is relative to population. However, a certain # of listeners seems to be equal to a rating point.

Anyone have more information about this?
