Now with the power crisis that the US is facing, is nuclear power the best viable solution at this point? From what I know(which isn't much), the safeguards are good, and the US has had a wonderful run in terms of safeguards and have had no problems...is this the answer?

SUNNY - I'm a big fan of nuclear power.

There is a popular misconception that it is unsafe. The earliest reactors where not terrific, but modern reactors have a flawless safety record. They produce far more power with far less polution then any other energy source.

The scary reality is, that within 25 years (best estimates 35 years) there will be no more usuable oil sources anywhere.) Obviously alternate energy sources need to be developed. At present nuclear power is the best option.

Further sources should be explored as well (and are).

I read about a theoretical energy source involving controlled micorsingularities. Pretty cool eh?

There is nothing wrong or harmful with nuclear power, it is just a lie set forth by the government.

Check it out.

Of course I read Maxim. Wave power is another source of basically untapped energy.

Alternatives exist, they just have to be developed and utilized.

Now if only we could get the oil companies from buying politicians....

yeah! where do they put the words- on the breasts or between the thighs?

::::Ignore my lame attempt at comedy::::

Anyways, I think that scientists need to think of a better way to harness the power of the sun and the moon a little better. It would be cool to not worry about an electric bill or having your appliences suddenly go dead.
