One important goal of therapy is to promote self-determination and help the client take responsibility for his own actions. Hiding behind the therapist or the disorder to avoid responsibility is not appropriate.

Billy would benefit from a through discussion with his therapist clarifying their roles and goals in the theraputic relationship.
