I get the impression that Billy Staples is a bit of an act. It is pretty obvious that Billy has some real problems, but he definitely plays them up on the air.

It sure sounded like the whole backing out of the Prince Albert thing tonight was a bit. They had to do the piercing at Monika's shop and then only after closing time, no one could go down and check it out, and then it gets cancelled? A little fishy sounding to me.

For the sake of the fact that he is a human being first and foremost albeit he has done some pretty masty things, the best I can hope for is that he just straighten himself up and if anything get some help. It is fucked to think of anyone killing ones self but there is always that chance to turn for the better and that is all I can hope for. Yes, I get annoyed, hell I felt like slapping my radio around and just telling him to be a stand up guy, but to forsee or think of a suicide, especially on the air, is beyond f'ed. I would lov enothing more than to see him go away for like 6 months and just think about things and get some guidance and then come back. Grantred we may not get the same old Billy back but there will be someone else to tool on by then. Good luck Billy!

Not that i agree in anyway with what the people posting about Billy killing himself and how great it would be, not to mention that as new posters to put that as their first couple of posts should have them put on "extended vacation", but yeahdude makes an extremely valid point.
Why is it ok to put that D&M or Leykis should be killed or given AIDS or any other such thing, and be treated as funny and sidesplitting, etc. etc. and met with no discourse. But when it is billy staples a member of the R&F crew it is frowned upon. I think this is very hypocrtical and im sure the standard response of well D&M arent funny will be given but really whats the rationalization for the double standard here

For the record, I don't want him to do such thing at all, I just feel for the guy. I know people who committed suicide for less, that is why I was wondering if Ron/Fez aren't pushing it at times. I bet however that - off the air - they tell Billy they are only kidding to make the show spicey.

Well, I am the biggest stand up comedy fan ever. When I got ADSL few years ago I started collecting bits from Mancow, Stern and O&A.

I then searched for the live radio shows and listened to Mancow for a few months untill their feed was shut down by the FCC.

I then searched for other cool feeds which had comedians as guests. I found an O&A feed and listened to it for about 2 years, untill .. well, we all know till when:)

I work US hours and thus tuned in to D&M at 4pm (for me), followed by O&A at 7pm and R&F at 01.00 AM. I always go to bed at 4.00 AM, so I always listened to 3 hours of R&F. I grew into liking them, getting to know characters in these shows really helps, just tuning in for the first time is kinda weird, just like listening to O&A.

Now they are my absolute #1 show, I even liked them a little better than OandA just before they went of the air (although getting O&A again won't hurt either:)).

Actually, I thought that was whole thing was awfully depressing. Staples did the right thing: if he's riding on that much medication & in therapy to get his feeble life back on track, then having the underside of his penis punctured is probably not the best option going for him.

He does need payback, though, for going forward with the whole bet -- and then bailing. Even he'll agree on that point.

Why people wish him dead, I think it's more an expression of annoyance that they got gypped out of some potentially gruesome radio last night. Why they wish Lykis or D&M dead is raging loyalty to Ron & Fez - everyone else blows.

I actually think Billy is a very strong guy.

I have mentioned before that MANY people don't survive even ONE of the addictions he has - food, alcohol, drug, gambling. If he has come this far from overcoming these addictions, I doubt he is apt to kill himself.

The fact that the guy is willing to go on medication, see his therapist (sometimes 3 times a week), go to 12 step meetings, only shows me he is trying to improve his life.

I don't put people down who are trying to improve themselves.

i wanna believe that, but in order for it to be true, billy would need to be a great actor. that, he is not. then r&f and the rest of the crew would have to be in on the act. there's no way they could pull if off either. it's too real not to be.

after listening to the replay, it just irks me how billy became antagonistic towards wb. HE made the mistake, but its the fault of OTHERS. and every time he tries to weasel his way out of being a molester, it just goes to show you what an awful human being he is. he cant even accept full responsiblity for the heinous act.

there are people who've had much more adversity in their lives and they dont use it as a crutch. billy goes out of his way to find whatever excuse he can to snake out of his responsibilities. and how is he able to afford a psychiatrist AND a therapist, but not be able to fork over 1 grand like ron suggested? not to mention the fact the tried to make a $500 bet with a kid the night before.
