Early Days of Radio

I'm reading this book about the early days of radio, and it says that during radio's infancy in 1929, commercials were forbidden from 7 to 11 PM.

How goddamn sweet would that be on 102.7?

There was a wonderful Ken Burns documentary on PBS about the early days of radio, which was shown two weeks ago. I believe it was called Masters of the Airwaves, you should check it out.

Unless he made another one it's called "Empire Of The Air" but its more about the technology of radio rather than an on-air chronology. It was quite good though, and gives a good detail about the beginnings of the NBC radio network.

No Make Believe Ballroom though...
