man i can't get on too much anymore cause i got busy with work and school but even when i do there is nothing i feel like posting about or on anymore.

does anyone else feel like the topics kinda blow lately? i guess i'm guilty as well for not contributing anything worthwhile, well ever. but the threads are always, "i stubbed my toe today" or "i get annoyed at green headbands" or "i can't get girls cause they hate guys like me" and so on.

and i understand this board is usually about nothing, i mean it's a f'n messageboard. but am i alone in thinking this or does anyone else feel the quality of posts dropping?

i've found the exact same thing, fatty. with school, i've been away from the board a lot... i came back after about a month of not checking it at all, and was able to find only like two threads in which i had any interest in posting. i think we need to take the board back...

The biggest problem seems to be that people have no desire to read the board, or even an entire thread before they post. Out of, say, 30 threads, a good ten of those will basically be about the similar subject, oe bring up something that was just discussed within the last three days or so. I'm not talking about digging through the archives, I mean similar threads right on the same damn page!

Plus, people sometimes are so eager to post their cutesy little comment, they don't read the thread they're posting in, and fail to notice that someone else has basically said the exact same thing already. READ, dammit. Use those peepers.

And mysterious and obtuse subject lines STINK. Ellipses are the work of Hitler, and those that use them in a subject line should be poked with sticks until they die. These days we were lucky that this thread wasn't actually called "There is nothing...". Cocks. SOMEONE MUST PAY.

My "birthday" thread from a few weeks ago was a good example of this. Once Pantera ratted me out about just playing with the board birthday listing thing at about the 8th post, there were still about 20 replies wishing me a happy birthday hours later.

And whenever I do decide to make a thread, I make sure to make the subject of my thread known, it is the SUBJECT line. And if you think you're being clever by tricking people into reading your thread you're actually giving us reason to ignore you in the future.

I would say a majority of the things that fatty said and i agree with is the recent increase in members who used to post on the O&A messageboard. These people suck and have ruined what used to be a good thing. I rarely start a thread and when i do it is usually something that i feel important not about my cars headlights.
In fact i did post some meaningless stuff once like: Who likes Chinese food, or Air do we really need it or which do you prefer pen or pencil and these pointless threads got like 30 or 40 responses.
I say stick mostly to the places where you know there will not be meaningless threads.

I think you are very confused.

There are very few new members on this board that used to post on the OA.com board. It's pretty much Irish Alkey, Ants in My Pants, Tricia, Whackbagkid, theJays, Peachy, Hybrid, and me. Most of the above mentioned post rarely and are usually funny and on point.

I think that you can attribute the lack in quality posters to the fact that most people are stupid.

I think since this board got bigger, we stopped caring. When it was the regulars on the board, when something like "I woke up today and realized that my genitals were missing" was posted,we all could laugh (or call 911) and reply. No one really cares when it is someone with 40 posts. It's not personal anymore. Everyone knew each other, so when something silly or crazy was posted, everyone could relate or picture what was going on because they knew each other on a different level.
Now there are people making up crazy names just to hurt one another and people posting just to promote their band or club....

Fatty, you shoud still be proud of this thread. Even though it went completely off topic or two and half pages, you're giving a place for people to vent.

And this thread became an example of what OA.com at it's best. Not 200 people in a pissing contest, not everyone raging on each other for no reason, but a type of free association, rolling funny conversation that you would have with the same people at a bar. The only problem was that the little-dicked bus boy owner of the board got more intrested in the high-profile friends he was making than looking over his site and it all caved in.

And your experience on this or any other message board is what you make of it. Size doesn't matter. We probably still have a core group of 60 to 80 regulars that post all the time. The people starting the "mean names" and join just o plug heir bands should just be considered growing pains, as Ron and Fez keep getting more popular the board will grow and the ones not here to contribute anything really will disappear. And if i weren't for our growth, we wouldn't have newer members like Shorty, Friday, and Thebazile. Now can you honestly tell me we'd be better off without them?

And if something isn't done to break the sexual tension between Latinspice and Whackbagkid I think there's going to be trouble.

does anyone else feel like the topics kinda blow lately? i guess i'm guilty as well for not contributing anything worthwhile, well ever.

Okay i feel the need to explain my ridiculous thread that got locked in a nanosecond...i think the above quote sums up how i feel and i am going to use it as an excuse to try to explain why i even posted it (09-07-2003??)

-Whenever i would look to see when the latest post was in RonFez.Net Lounge it would show a date in September of 2003 @ 2:52 pm(which obviously has not occurred yet)

-I was merely trying to point this out, but the problem is now fixed so, on top of making no sense in my post, i now look like more of a moron than i already did

If anybody else saw the same thing I was hoping they would say so, guess not.

P.S. I do think most of the topics suck lately but as I am doing nothing to better the situation I cannot complain
