Cliff Floyd is a MET?!? WTF?

Early Merry Christmas present Met marks...

Straight from the horses' mouth, 'FAN's Mike and the Mad Dogg apparently the Mets have just agreed to a contract (terms and money undisclosed) with Cliff Floyd and he'll be a Met depending on him passing a physical. Hopefully, he stays healthy in the following seasons.

This is great news, now get rid of those other outfielders! PLAY BALL!

Yeah bay-bee.......Metsie's lookin' pretty good for next year. I believe Mo and Alomar are gonna bounce back big time next year, and along with the bats of Piazza and Floyd looks like a lethal line-up. If the prospect at short Reyes and the Japanese third baseman live up to their billing, it should make for a interesting year. Glavine makes the pitching staff much better, as I always regarded Leiter as a #2 man, not a ace. Bascik looks like a good pitching prospect, plus we got some gems in the minors that will be ready soon. I was not impressed with the hiring of Howe, but everyone seems to like him ( including the players, which is most important ). Looks like Steve Philips just might have saved his job.

Tug McGraw was once asked if he prefered Astroturf over grass, and he replied "I don't know, I never smoked Astroturf".......Ya Gotta Believe !!!

I hear the Mets have been sending a trainer to Mo's house every week to check his progress on the weight losing program they got him on.........or Richard Simmons moved in and became Mo's new roommate. I guess we'll see at spring training time if he's a fat load, or just a regular load.

I was a big Alfonso fan but let's face it, I would rather give Floyd the money than Fonzie. They signed Floyd for less money than San Fran payed Edgardo. Fonzie has 100 RBI's in 2 years. Back injuries don't heal.
