Apparently, he did not want to sign with the Mets and decided to stay in Japan. The 'FAN said the main reasons he left was because the Mets leaked out the deal early and he was concerned about his children's safety living in New York?

WTF?!? Hey bitch, didn't you say you wanted to go to New York to live a life-long dream playing in America? Bro, didn't you know we were coddling your ass for a long time and we let go of Fozzy because we thought you wanted to be here. Now we got shit! Thank you jackass! I am sooo heated right now.

Guys and gals, what are we going to do at third NOW? Trade for Randa, Tatis, Blum, Hillenbrand or let Wigginton start? Shea would be phenomenal but it does not seem we got anything to trade with Boston and for that matter why would they want to trade with us, of all teams. What can we do?

PS: There is nothing left out there and I really want JOSE CRUZ patrolling our outfield for years to come. He is a free-agent and dammit we STILL got Cedeno and Burnitz.

To hell with Hideki Shinjo, or whatever this dude's name is.......if he didn't take the chance to play here, then that proves he doesn't have the balls to make it in the bigs, so it's the Met's gain in the long run. Who knows.......Wigginton might just be a pleasant suprise and have a good year. The Mets must have believed Fonzie's health would not hold up much longer, because his birth certificate in not accurate, and he's probably pushing 40 and is one injury away from a long injury list stint.
