View Full Version : Female Rape Fantasy -Reality
The Chairman

The old Discussion Topic name sketched me out, so here's the Jon Dory from the Chairman:
Female Rape Fantasy falls under a category of sexual disorders known as Paraphillias. Female Rape Fantasy in most accurately described as Sexual Masochism.
It involves fantasizing or deriving sexual pleasure from being abused and/or "forced" to perform sex physically. Fantasies or acts that involve mental sexual humiliation fall under what's called moral masochism.
Fantasizing about being "forced" to have sex is a common fantasy for women. This is not the "raped and beaten up by crack addicts in Central Park" kind of rape. More often it's just a fantasy (or urge) to be forced to have sex (tied up, taped, etc.) with someone you are, or envision, being attracted to.
Women who have obsessive sexual masochism are usually dealing with defense mechanisms related to guilt feelings towards sex, with the "punishment" turned inwards. The best treatment for this is Insight-oriented psychotherapy and/or group therapy.
Or give me a call and I'll be there in 20 minutes after stopping off at Home Depot for a few things.

Sexual Masochists. Just like women.
If a GUY WANTS to a RAPE a woman, and unhealthily obsesses about it, he's a Sexual Sadist.
He's also fucked up.
And he needs insight oriented psychotherapy or aversion therapy.
We're not talking role playing between consenting adults.
That we may call erotic.

I think people should fuck the way they like regardless of what brought them to liking to be fucked that way unless it could kill them.
Then that's a whole other story, because they'd be dead and they wouldn't be able to fuck and get fucked the way they liked anymore, and it would really suck.

Time again to attempt to unravel the twisted thinking that Freud and his minions have wrought upon us all.
The fantasy of being raped is the commonest sexual fantasy of women. Not one of the commonest, THE commonest. Why? Because women are taught that "nice girls don't initiate sex" and the like, so even in the most "liberated" woman there tends to be vestiges of guilt and lowered self-esteem associated with sexual activity outside of marriage. The rape fantasy is, for women, the sexual equivalent of calorie-free ice cream: all of the pleasure, none of the guilt.
This is not to say women actually want to be raped. Rape in reality, by some repugnant stranger who has likely beaten you and is threatening your life, is undoubtedly a horrific experience. The fantasy, on the other hand, is with a desirable man, someone known or a "type" (motorcycle thug, cop, whatever), and is highly erotic.
For men, similarly, the fantasy of raping women is entirely normal. Believe it or not, gals, we men get frustrated from time to time at not being able to have sex with whomever we want, whenever we want it. So we fantasize about taking what you have the unmitigated gall to withold from us. Of course, in the fantasy, you end up loving it and wanting more. A perfectly normal fantasy, and believe me, no matter what your politically correct pussy-whipped boyfriend tells you, virtually 100% universal among men. So long as it ends there, or in some sort of acting-out among willing participants, as Superstar would say, "GOOD!" Taking the fantasy into the actual commission of rape, "NO GOOD!"
Its really that simple. Up yours, Freud.

I don't think you can die from having sex with someone that's already dead so I think that it's fine, except I have qualms with the whole "consent" issue.
I don't want to climb that mountain right now though.

It's important to differentiate b/w sexual paraphilias which are pathological, and sexual fantasy or action which is not.
A rape fantasy is not pathological; it is entirely normal - as long as the fantasy involves "fantasy thinking", as opposed to desiring the real thing.
As the Chairman pointed out, the rape fantasy is typically not violent or particularly forceful. It also usually involves someone the person is attracted to.
Sexual Masochism by definition involves "real not simulated" thoughts and/or acts.
Sexual Sadism by definition involve "real not simulated" thoughts and/or actions as well.
It's also important to diffrentiate b/w people who have a rape fantasy now and then, which they might (or might not) act out with their boyfriend, and people who obsess on these thoughts.
I agree that in the latter cases some defense mechanism is usually involved. The defense mechanism may arise from religious guilt, where the person responds to the pleasures of sex by feeling guilty and thinking themselves a bad person. (Internalizing their guilt.) Note that this isn't a conscious process but is rather done on a unconscious level.
Often, a victim of sexual abuse or rape, will have rape fantasies. Stage theorists suggest that this is b/c a person will seek to return to traumatic events and try to redo it so that it comes out right this time. This is also done by the unconscious mind, with the person often not having any idea why they are acting as they are. Insight oriented therapy is very beneficial in this type of scenerio, as it relates the current behavior to past events. Once the behavior is understood for what it is, the person has the option of changing it.

Great points and clarifications, as always, HK.
Another example of a perhaps paradoxical manifestation of sexual urges is promiscuity in women. More often than not, promiscuous women were negected by their father, or did not have strong father figures in their lives. Their promiscuity is a result of attempts to create real, albeit transient, connections with men.

CHAIRMAN - My thinking on this is very mixed, but as a feminist, I tend to discredit that theory of promiscuity, as it applies only to women.
Men who sleep around w/lots of people aren't promiscuous - they're studs. Women who sleep w/lots of guys are promiscuous or sluts. It is the age old double standard for women.
