i dont think Jon ever had an appreciation thread, but he does deserve one. he really cares about this board and the people on it (well, some of them, at least). he also takes a lot of crap from people (well, most from me) and always lets it slide.
he's probably one of the sweetest, kindhearted people i know. if he put out more, he'd be almost perfect.
And no, i'm not just saying all this in hopes of getting more presents for xmas and my bday.

"Auditing" a course at a college means you are taking the course for personal enrichment but not for course credit. Usually this is only an option available in large lectures, but, while I was in school, it could happen when there were seats available in smaller courses as well. The auditers do not take course exams, are not responsible for homework and readings but seem to add lots of energy and enthusiasm to what may be an otherwise dull class.

Colleges usually set up a flat-fee rate for audites, so, if any money changes hands here, Silera, you're entitled to it as the course-giver.

This is not to be confused, of course, with Non-Matriculation, but I have ranted enough today.

Oh, and the thing I came in here to do was:

* to clarify : "iff" is an abbreviation used in Logic (and, quite possibly, Mathematics) courses for "if and only if"

Like Thebaz said. The cool thing about audits is that, unlike some of the students, they're just there because they want to be there. They do as much or as little of the work as they choose, without any repurcussions.
