Who do you think is the best commentator ever?

I think Jerry Lawler is awesome, Mark Madden from WCW is really under-rated

What do I have to say? This is not a bit!

jerry lawler WAS great.he's too soft now.you need one guy backing the heels and one guy backing the faces.it seems that both jr and the king are rootingfor the good guys these days.jesse ventura was the best of all time,he always rooted for the bad guys down the middle

It's really funny, when the King left a little while back I was really disapointed, and I hated Heyman. Towards the end of Heyman's run, I really enjoyed his commentary and now I feel that the King is a shell of his former self. The only good role he has played in the last few months is to point out when there are or aren't any puppies he can go after.

The best there ever was or will be... Tony Schavonie(sp?)!! For those who didn't catch the sarcasm... He had to be one of the worst. One of the best? I always did sorta like Mean Gene Okerlund. (Even tho most of you prob. didn't.)

Best of all time? That's tough. I'd say Jim Ross - PRE WWF. Back in the late 80s, very early 90s of the NWA / WCW, Ross was a GOD of commentating. This is a big reason why I don't like Ross now - the shift in quality from his early work to his work today is so blisteringly different it's staggering.

Best color commentator....Ventura was great. But I think the Brain has the slight edge.

Couldn't have said it any better....just a shame Styles will never work for Vinny Mac & Heenan's voice might never be the same.

...silent, but violent.

Shawn Micheals was great all the time when he used to do the shows. Mr. Perfect when he used to do the pre-raw monday night show. Ted Dibiase was great, bobby heenan and who remembers when raven was an announcer with wwf under the name johnny polo
and vinnie mac was always good

Heenan and Monsoon were great on the old USA wrestling show...think it was called Primetime or something like that. they would sit in a studio and show you matches.

i also liked Joey Styles in ECW.

I'd like to throw out that Josh Matthews (yeah, the kid from Tough Enough) is already a much better commentator on Velocity that Michael Cole is on Smackdown.

I know, I know, it's not THAT hard to be better than Cole, I'm just giving the kid his props.

I totally agree...and there's a good reason for that...he is a WRESTLING FAN. I could be way off here, but something tells me that the only thing Michael Cole did in his life before he got to the WWE that resembled wrestling was wearing tights for his 3rd grade "tumbling" recital.

The man knows NOTHING about the product he is paid to describe weekly on NATIONAL F'n Television. I think I would shit myself if he called two consecutive move by their proper 'rasslin names.

I mean, this guy doesn't know an elbow drop from Total Elimination. His entire arsenal of "calls" can be best summed up with his only line that resembles a catch phrase....EVERY FUCKING TIME I see Rikishi, I have to be reminded that, "This guy just loves to have fun!"

The only two wrestling words that instill fear in more hearts than Michael Cole are......Tony Schiavone
