What is it HK, and what is the explanation for why it happens, if there is any? I'm stumped, and it's always strange when it happens...when you get that familiar feeling that you've already done something that's happened...why?

Deja Vu is a term in psychology referring to the illusion of having already experienced something that you are actually experiencing for the first time.

All kinds of theories have been advanced for this feeling or sensation. Some are downright silly. One I've seen is that Deja Vu is a type of precognition!

The more scientifically grounded theories and of much more appeal, is that Deja Vu has to do with the way our minds work to organize experiences and memories.

Obviously a feeling of deja vu is not the actual experience of something never previously experienced. Rather, something about the new event casuses us to associate the memory of a previoiusly experienced event with the new experience.
