I have been on this message board a while, and thought I would figure it out with time.

(Kinda like the WooWaah!)

It's been a while and I still cannot figure out why every once in a while someone posts a message that just says "Topped."

What the hell is up with that?? CYA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it's a lazy man's way of keeping a thread "active" so that more people can view it. Each time u reply to a topic, it "tops" to the head of the current discussions. This is usally and only should be done with official threads and by mods/admins.

it's a lazy man's way of keeping a thread "active" so that more people can view it.just curious... what's lazy about it? i've only topped one or two threads in my time but, in both cases, i did so because i thought the thread was interesting, and was something that a lot of people hadn't seen before. instead of starting another, identical thread, i think it makes sense to top the old one.
This is usally and only should be done with official threads and by mods/adminsi don't think that's true (although we can check)... i had asked about this a while ago and was told that it was ok so long as you had a good reason for topping something

Such an inquisitive mind, Ari..ok...well, typing "topped" instead of adding something or just saying, "i thought this was interesting, so I'm topping it. Enjoy!" etc...is lazy. And I believe I said "should" be done by mods, etc because, A) they know best and B)one word replies are frowned upon, and C)because i said so! now go to bed!! There of course exceptions to every rule, and since this is not a rule. there are no excceptions.

kinda like the woowah

The soundbite is actually referred to as a "hoo-hah" and it's my understanding that it was taken from Scent of a Woman. . . Al Pacino's character has a tendency to say it a lot. If I am wrong about this, someone who has been on the board longer may enlighten you.

Don't go around insulting Chris The Cop, please. Chris is a very friendly, sweet, classy guy. . . even if he does want to sit around with a brandy and a bubble pipe. :) [sigh] It's just a personal preference, you know, especially since I like the smell of sandalwood so much more than soap bubbles!
