What do you expect? You're only live show is out of drive time and competing with prime time television, you lost you're largest draw and filled the rest of the day with shows that have proven that they can't gain an audience. At least Ferral had a 2 share, I can't even listen to Harris Allen, and forget it, Lykis routinely pulled .5-.7 shares before, and now that he's trashing NY every show he won't pull jack.

We had it all, and then the "incident" happened.

Remember WNEW ALL DAY. Except when Don and Mike were on. Wake up and drive to work with Ferrall, Drive home with O&A, and get drunk with Ron and Fez.

WNEW was the COOLEST radio station, I was devoted to a good 10+ hours a day!! I never strayed, not even during commercials.

Then came Tom Lick-ass, I think they are using this guy to tank the ratings and chase all the old listeners away so they can justify a format change.

I dunno, I just hope they keep the boys on in NY.

Christ, I haven't watched TV at night for a year now!! I dunno what I'd do??

Me too! except for The Sopranos during the fall I have watched almost no prime time TV at all. I couldn't even tell you what new show are out there. As for the ratings... What did we expect? Richard Neer, Lykis and Letterman on radio??? That's no support for R & F at all. We know the format is changing, but what is it gonna be??? Radio is supposed to be a promotional industry, yet they're keeping this under wraps like it's a military secret! This is why WNEW is in the state that it is... NO PROMOTION!!! <P>

I hate to rant, but this ratings score is Bullshit. I mean arbitron pays people $2..to tell them what they hear every month....and they only sample a couple 1,000 people..iused to be an arbitron ratings person...i was 12, i filled in whatever adn took my 2 dollars. there whole system is screwed up...if you mean to tell me that a tropical station gets more listeners than WNEW? No, it is probably just the black people collecting their 2 dollars a month and checking off hot 97 and some calypso station...(Ani DeFranco in background)..whatever the case may be....the rating system is a load of malarky, there is no way to tell exactly how many people have their radio on at any given time...i stopped watching Tv to hear ron and fez..TV sucks nowadays anyway....whatever, i ranted...it's all shit, fuck the books!! your opinion on whether they are true or not has no basis. This is the system that has been used for a long time and they obviously know there is some error but those errors were there when the station got good ratings as well. And the bottom line is it was O&A's fault they were the enablers in the entire situation, it was there contest with their scoring system not Paul Mercurios, not the couples, not the cathedrals, they should have known that there may be some consequences and now they are paying for it
