I just went in and checked to see what it was that you might have heard. There was a short gap before Letterman started and there WAS part of a word in there: what you heard was part of the countdown to the show. I must have potted it up, then back down when the show didn't begin as expected.

It wasn't the f-bomb, though. :)

Thanks for letting me know I'm wasn't going crazy...I knew I heard something. I thought someone cracked a mic accidentally, then dropped the bomb when the show didn't start immediately. Sorry for implying...

BTW, I wasn't hip to RF in the early days but I got to hear you recently on some of the dot-com replays. I think you're great and that you should get some more air time. <P>

I hope it was just some joke that only Dave got.I heard it too, and I think Letterman was just being his regular stupid self, and he probably doesnt care if it's on radio or not, but I'd think he just said that because it was the punchline of the joke.
