Disturbed? Gee, that's rough. I don't think that keeping diaries - whether print or audio - indicates any problem. It's usually just a way to vent off steam. And a random project like taping the news is a good way to distract oneself from anything really important. Every time Mikey D drops a new facet of his life on air he becomes a more interestesting character. It's telling that he doesn't feel compelled to drop the beans all at once to appear interesting - it's just the way he is.

What caught my attention is that he he also mentioned that he worked at a brokerage because I have a similar background. I wonder how he made the transition to radio! Mabye he'll tell us one day. Sometimes it sounds like he won the lottery.

I think this went a little too far. You have to draw a line of how much of your personal life you want involved on the air. Helen and Mikey have been together for such a long time and have a child. Helen was never allowed to listen to these tapes and not even allowed in the room...in her own home! All of a sudden, Ron asks for the tapes and Mikey doesn't think twice. Doesn't that seem a little odd?

Where is the order of respect here? I am not even going to touch what he said on the tapes. I can't type for that long but all I have to say is imagine listening to your lover/bestfriend/father of your child just being so negative about you on the air...meanwhile they share a bed together.

Jersey Rich: You are friends with Mikey D so I understand your opinion, but it is no secret that I dislike him and his wife. Why?

Certain things that they have OPENLY admitted on the radio about themselves and things they have said about Lenay.

Ron had stated on the air at one point that he felt that Helen was STALKING the show and expressed he was annoyed with her doing this. I remember Fez complaining about her "leering" over him.

From the very beginning I had always felt that they basically used Lenay as a pawn to get on the air and for Mikey to get a job there.

I had heard this child talk about "Flashers" the strip club on the air.

She is taught to be nasty and disrespectful to adults on the phone.

I don't particular like hearing about their weird bizarre married life, and then later, have Helen complain that Mikey is thinking about a woman they slept with.

Wonderboy had complained that Mikey inappropriately touched him on the set. Most people would be canned for this type of behavior on their jobs.

Mikey describing incidents of putting Lenay at harm is disturbing to me. Putting a child in a lion's cage or having her almost get hit by a car because Mikey couldn't walk her in the proper crosswalk, again, is not comedy. Also, having a child watch her father destroy another guy's car is disturbing to me.

Again, get help, Helen and Mikey! You are not funny. You are just two extremely weird people.

I agree with the above statement. A lot of women believe or want to believe that when two people are share their lives together they should feel the same about the things in their lives; that they now have the same perspective on the events occurring around them. Many of women also expect men to be in tuned to them telepathically

How many times have you heard a woman say, `You should know why I'm angry,' or `I don't know who you are anymore'?

Women want men to share their innermost thoughts with them, but men are not usually that open, ever.

Helen does have a right to be angry since Mikey had asked her not to listen to the tapes and then allowed them to be played on the air. Bad call Mikey.

People always have a reason for acting as they do.

Mike made the tapes. He allowed them to be played on the air, knowing that it would cause Helen to be upset (he had previously warned her not to listen to them).

So why did he do it?

Perhaps the things he said on the tape were things he had difficulty expressing to Helen, or resolving them, and playing them allowed the issues to be brought to the surface where they can be addressed.

Certainly Helen has the right to be upset. And Mike has the right to his opinions. They are now impossible to ignore and hopefully will be addressed in a constructive manner. By so doing it will strengthen their relationship.

I actually used to do something quite similar to this. I have a quirky memory, somewhat similar to Mikey's where I can remember great detail about something, but I need something to bring it to mind(anyone who's ever heard one of my stories can vouch for the detail I go into).

When I was writing my first book I kept a micro cassette recorder with me at all times to remind me of things. I kept track of story arcs, character developments, etc. on it. In order to fully remember what I was thinking at the time I usually included some detail about my day in it as well. Oddly enough, thinking of this brought up the memory of the last entry I made:

"Maybe I should crank up the irony of Vince's breakup, I thought of this when I was getting out of Philosophy class on Monday, we talked about whether or not Computers could "think" I thought of it during a daydream about Melissa and a talk we had about earlier relationships. Also, I think Vince is becoming too much of a pussy, I should tone down the fourth chapter."

That's word for word. I think this makes me a freak too.
