See it is people like you who make sports come under fire. You would think fans would like to know that their favorite quarterback or point guard or something has an actual brain. Sorry we all can't be like Shaquille O'Neal and not know how to spell out own name so we use SHAQ.

I like Chad and think he has poise beyond his linear years. He might seem a little packaged, but at least he comes off as an earnest young athlete (not ath-a-lete) who talks in the first person and is not a self centered egomaniac. I think he will mature into a fine QB.

As far as that 4.0, with all due respect to any Thundering Herd alums on this Board, Marshall isn't exactly a bastion of academia. If you have four neurons in your brain you're probably gonna make Dean's list. After all, this is the school that ath-a-letes who flunk out of Florida State transfer to..(actually Randy Moss left Florida State b/c he tested positive for drugs before he played a down.)

Back in the days Billy Staples was drinking he'd probably have had a harder time getting a blood alcohol level higher than the G.P.A. of an athlete with half a brain at Marshall.

Much as I like the Jets though, for a really smart QB who went to a great school, look no further than Long Island's own (and Dartmouth Alum) Jay Fiedler.

it is a BIG mystery to me with regard to what happened in the second half of that game...

The guy leads his team on a game tying, time consuming drive, to finish the first half. For someone who was confident to begin with this should have raised his confidence another level, BUT he comes out in the second half playing like he was totally intimidated, could not move out of his own way, and overthrowing on many occassions.

Makes me feel like he took a drug or was "on the take"...

Not likely but it still doesn't make sense to me...

Pennington is a 12 game starter and is far from being considered more than that. We'll see how he does next season...I have a feeling he'll be the next Browning Neagle.
