View Full Version : Why does cheese sweat oil when I let it get room temp too long?

I HATE that!
I'm just slicin' up some Cracker Barrel, and hey, I forget it's there when I'm done.
So when I finally remember to put it away, it's begun to sweat oil! Damn it all to hell!
Is it OK? I don't remember the last time I did that, and now that I did it again, I'm just wondering if I should throw it out or if it's cool to refrigerate again and finish later.

I doubt it. Even if you leave it out for a couple of hours, Cracker Barrel is so loaded with preservatives you don't have to worry about it.

Your body will be SO loaded with perservatives when you die that you won't completely decompose for at least 4 years.

This one's easy. The cheese knows that if it's at room temperature for a while, it's going to be eaten, and it gets nervous.

Maybe its just condensation on something cold.....
