Not on your life. Not only is he a politcal menace, but Lieberman just will not win over Middle America simply because he's Jewish. Look how much hooplah there was over a Catholic running for president...and they had to steal the election for him in Illinois and West Virginia for him to win, and he STILL ended up being shot to death. It's sad to say, but those "heartland" people are just too shortsighted to sit for this. He's going to steal more votes from the Dems than Nader did.

Whatever a particular Rabbi did, Lieberman is still considered orthodox. (It takes a quorum of 3 rabbis to excommunicate someone anyway).

But that's not the point.

Lieberman is a dangerous man with ridiculous notions. He's the only politician I can think of who is clearly worse than Bush. In a way, we're lucky it will never be an issue. Hopefully a decent candidate will get the nod. Then the choice b/w two lousy candidates will be a little clearer.

I was happy to hear that Lieberman has entered the Democratic primary race. I prefer him as a candidate over Edwards and Kerry since he is a rarity among democrats, liberal on social issues but strong on national defense. He may already have an advantage over other challengers because of the exposure he obtained during the previous campaign and the high profile he's kept in Washington during the previous 2 years; it would be difficult for Democrats to just cast him aside because of his religion. I think they should rather support him strongly because he is their best bet. He seems to be a common sense politician, often in the same boat as John McCain, and I will vote for him as often as I can. I think Lieberman is only as observant a Jew as George W is a Christian, and his reponse to the question on his religion elicited a strong applause from the crowd yesterday.

Can those of critical of Sen. Lieberman state your problems with him?

Lieberman is very much for censorship of material HE doesn't think is appropriate. Thank you but I decide what's appropriate for me and my kids, not anyone else. He blames Hollywood, video games and Maralyn Manson for social ills instead of looking for real problems and thier causes.
