How many countless "Favorite foreign wrestler" threads have there been here???

About 1 for roughly 100 other posts.

You know, there IS wrestling out there beyond the WWE. And here's a shocker - it's GOOD stuff. Better, many times, than the shit the WWE shovels our way.

Best Asian wrestler: currently, I'd have to go with Toshiaki Kawada. Kawada is one of the greatest heavyweights of ALL TIME. Yuji Nagata a close second for current great.

Mitsuhara Misawa in his prime may have arguably been one of the greatest ever. Same with Jumbo Tsurata.

Keiji "Great Muta" Mutoh is a bizarre case. When motivated (which was mercurial), he could put on some great matches. Now his knees are shot to hell, and he's running All Japan into the ground, but I still give him props for being the only one I know who can actually do the Shining Wizard properly (note to Helms: it's good that you try, but a kick to the head isn't a Shining Wizard).

But I'm just talking heavyweights here. If you're talking juniors, than Jyushin "Thunder" Lyger is perhaps the greatest Japanese junior to have ever lived.

Jumbo Tsuruta is #1 of all time with a rich history of matches. Kenta Kobashi is #2, having had incredible matches with Misawa, Kawada, Hansen, Williams, Akiyama during the 90's and helping to make Noah a fed to watch in 2003.

At first I thought this was a thread about the tag team "Orient Express" of the early 90's. If it was, I would have to say that the masked Kato was the dominant member.

Kobashi is one of the all-time greats, no question. I wouldn't list him as a current great, simply because he literally has the knees of an 80 year old man (and I mean, literally - I believe I read somewhere that his doctors actually told him that - that his knees are the equivalent to an 80 year old man's knees). Which is tragic, seeing as he's at most only about 36 years old.

He is a beast, the problem is, he knows NOTHING about wrestling. His booking is worse than even Muta's.

Yes.

No, Jones is not Nailz. Trust me, after the shit that went down between Nailz & Vince, Nailz won't ever get a job with McMahon again.

When I think of Japanese wrestling I think of Shohei Baba.

I count Mike Awesome, since most of his career (pre ECW) was in Japan, and don't forget Masato Tanaka
From what i've seen from
his match with Samoa Joe, it looks like he can still go. I havent seen
all of the match but from what i heard it was a 5 star match. I am
definitly looking foward to seeing the match in whole.
