It's amazing how moves have gone from finishing your opponent off with a powerslam, a superplex, or even a bodyslam, which are common moves today. When and who made those transitions from the leg drop and the bodyslam, to the Shooting Star Press and the Pedigree?

You have to realize that the times change and thus wrestling has to change with it. Thats why you don't see people like The Brooklyn Brawler or Barry Horowitz opening RAW or Smackdown. Same reason you don't see 60 minute matches anymore. Or even 30 minute matches for that fact.

Beign the young fan that I am, I still know about the oldschool style, and honestly, I love seeing people like Angle and Benoit using actuall wrestling moves. I mean a lot of the technical moves are the most entertaining things to watch, in my opinion.

To some people even Angle and Beniots style of wrestling is not old school. But I believe they are pretty much as close as you can get. Especially since they are from the new school. They aren't into the high flying moonsaults or anything like that. That makes an interesting match for me. A 30 minute marathon match between Angle and Beniot at RR would make me pay for it.

Too bad Vince is destroying (destroyed) wrestling as we know it.

I'll be damned if anyone could figure out who and when. My best guest would be whenever wrestling became a regular part of television programming. I figure each person needed a signature move to differentiate themselves. If you're just doing not-tv house shows or shows with a small tv audience you could get away with different endings.

But once you hit large audiences you have to give the audience a bit of predictability. It's like a movie genre, after seeing something numerous times the audience expects certain characters to repeat certain actions/sayings.

Even a few months ago when Hogan did the leg drop....how the hell does his leg drop get him a win but when Big Show who weighs like 150lbs more than him doesnt?

What do I have to say? This is not a bit!

Because it's Hogan.

But remeber when Big Show was doing his "I'll Do Everyone elses Gimmick" Gimmick and he faced Angle and dressed up as Hogan and came out to American Hero? Now that's comedy!
