Hk What would you do?

Im on a dead end job right now, going nowhere in my life. I cant even get a second job because nobody is hiring. Im REALLY considering moving down south to FL, live with my Mother for a while, get situated, and try to "get a life" so to say down there. The county is booming popualtion wise, the local economy down there is off the wall so to speak. Im just really tempted to pack up my stuff, and take a risk in my life. It sounds very scary, but I think it would be the best option for me right now. What do you think?

I know you asked Horde King, but I went through the same thing myself (except in my case I moved to *shudder* Wisconsin), and even though I'm homesick as hell, it's actually been the best choice I could have made. In the year & a half since moving here, I've found a steady job, gotten myself out of debt, set aside a nice stash of ''emergency funds,'' actually gotten myself into better shape mentally and physically, and am now up for a promotion and transfer that could have me moving back to my old home. If I would have been a wuss and stayed put, I don't think I could have accomplished as much as I have. <P> In short, I guess I'm saying go for it. <P> <P>

I have taken a number of (calculated) risks in my life and so long as you think through all the possibilities and feel you have a good chance at success then go for it!!

It is so much better to try than to spend the rest of your life wondering "what if?"

This advice from a 40+ guy who gave up his job and moved to America.

Sometimes a complete change is a really terrific thing. It gives you a chance to remake yourself, to start over without anyone having any preconceived notions about you that might inhibit this remake.

You're unhappy in your current job. You don't think it has a future. Certainly it would be to your advantage to get a new more fulfilling job with greater opportunity for advancement.

The job market in NY sucks so it may be easier for you to find a job in Florida where you say the "county is booming [economically]"

I'd feel more comfortable though, if I had a job lined up in advance. Perhaps you could go down for a week or two and make some inquiries.

Remember, that if it doesn't work out, for whatever reason you can always come back. Don't be afraid to explore the possibility of a move. It may be the doorway to a better life.

Kinda, Im kind of the second blacksheep in my family, in my oppinion. Im the dumbass who dropped out of college, worked my ass, off, got kicked out of my house ECT. So In my mind I think it would look good to others if I made a move in my life to benifit me

I've lived in FL, you don't want to move down there. the economy changes rapidly and unless you live in down town tampa, orlando the night life sucks!!!!
