Did Saturday Night Live steal from Ron and Fez?

Ron mentioned tonight that SNL lifted a bit from Fez, on last Saturday's show. Which one was it? Ron seemed pretty pissed off about it.

The boys did sort of a private comedy pyramid on last Wednesday I believe. It was on what bogus Fox reality show was next after "Joe Millionaire". They came up with some very good ones like Joe Pimp, Joe Drug Addict, Joe Pedophile, Joe Bisexual, Joe Pud, Joe Incest, Joe Club Foot, Joe Garagiola (ha!), Joe Herpes, Joe Hermaphrodite and others. They said the name and described them. I wrote them down during the Sunday morning replay after I watched SNL. <P> I caught about 4 minutes of SNL last week and they did some weak fake commercials for Joe Dude or some S like that. Totally not funny and ripping off the boys. Don't know if it was directly or indirectly. But it wouldn't be out of the question for a writer to have listened to NEW in NY and write the fake commercials. <P> What are they going to have next Saturday? New "The Who" songs? <P> <P>
Sad thing is, less than 1% of the people that watched that will know that it wasn't original. My dumb friends still think SNL is funny. The SNL of Farley, Sandler and Spade it ain't. <P>

I heard Ron mention that they stole an idea from them, wasn't sure if he was joking or not since Iam rarely home on saturdays and if I am I don't watch SNL. Wouldn't put it pass them to do things like that, they have before and sure they will again.

I am no fan of SNL but take it easy...my friends and I were chillin' a few weeks ago havin' our own Joe "whatever" for some laughs. I'm sure plenty of people have been having fun with it.

I used to be an SNL regular but I pretty much stopped watching over the summer. I did happen to see this. It was after Gordon's monolouge and it was one of those mock commercials. The show was called "Joe Hetero" and it was a guy who was gay pretending to be straight. "Joe" was played by Seth Meyers I think.

BTW, didnt Tracy Morgan tell the boys that they wrote for themselves?

Everyone write for them selfs
like at first
like you creat the charter and you write the first sketch your self and its ot get you on if tis a hit then all the other writers are told hey if you come up wiht somethign do it

Now if the show is weak and they dont have anythgin they go to the people with charters and say hey can you help us out

and so they go and write to there best a sketch like brain fellows

Brain fellows was incredbly fun when it first started but i really liked the song and it was stuck in my head

I will still watch cause you never know when there gold in the middle of crap

and what else is on at that time on saturday?
the first half of mad tv is fun but they knwo snl beat them so there second half they jsut give up or so it seams

SNL still slays me. The DeNiro episode was brilliant. I can't believe Bobby D went for the Thomas Jefferson sketch.

Where would MadTV be if it weren't for recurring sketches. They must make up 75% of the show.

An even funnier Tracey Morgan character (with an even catchier theme song) is "Astronaut Jones". Morgan just may be the funniest guy this season, though under used. The sketches where Horatio Sanz and Jimmy Fallon "crack" eachother up (ala Tim Conway and Harvey Korman) are just irritating, and fake.
