Ha ha!

I found this on IMDB:

Hollywood star Sean Penn has confessed he was used as a propaganda tool by Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. The Carlito's Way star made a three-day fact-finding trip to the country last month after stating his opposition to a possible war in the Gulf. But Penn now concedes he played into the hands of Hussein by violating a US law forbidding Americans to visit the war-torn country. After his trip Iraq's publicity chiefs hailed the actor's visit a huge success, and they claim it's further proof that the country is safe and free of weapons of mass destruction. Speaking on talk show Larry King Live, the actor said, "I didn't expect to be told the truth on everything. They said that I said this, they said that I said that. I think it's meaningless horse-s**t. That is the way that they behave. But, you know, that's a price I was willing to pay."

Wham, bam, thank you ma'am!

An actor violates the law and isn't punished for it? The hell you say!

And after an imitation moonlight dinner in the bomb shelter bunker, Saddam said he loved Sean.

Sean...Sean fell for it.

Nobody takes Iraqi propaganda seriously, unless they do so at gunpoint. What Saddam says is irrelevant to both supporters and opponents of war in Iraq. His influence ends at his own borders.

I picture a meeting between Penn and Saddam being something like Spicoli and Mr. Hand, a very evil Mr. Hand.
Penn is an ass.

Did he also punch out a few photographers over there?

I place him in the same category as I do with Bill Clinton, "PLEASE, PLEASE GO AWAY!"

I thought that Sean Penn never had an opinion on the war either way. He simply went to Iraq to "get all the facts".

True, we do all make mistakes. But my beef is with the privileges being a celebrity has.

After 9/11-- football players, actors, actresses had free passes to see the aftermath. Why? Jenna Elfman was allowed to view Ground Zero. What the hell can Jenna Elfman do to fix the problem?

Celebrities all too often live in a "happy little bubble" that the average American cannot afford to live in. They're too busy worrying about Tibet, the rainforests, etc. Believe me, I'm glad there are people who have the time and resources to worry about those things. Sean Penn just made the United States look FOOLISH!

And, yeah, if it's against the law for Americans to go over there, why was he allowed to go?

Oh yeah, he was married to Madonna.

Edit: One of the celebrities I really respect is Steve Buscemi. He is a former NYC fireman. He went down there, not for publicity, but to help.

Just figuring that out now, huh Sean? Tell us how you couldn't see it coming. There are 2 kinds of idiots in the world, those who at least have the sense to keep their trap shut and try to conceal the fact; and then there are those with a truly serious case of dumbass who have to put it on display for all the world to see.
