My Mom died this morning ...

My Mom died this morning. It was so peaceful! I saw her take her last breath! her eyes were rolled back and she was gasping. She knew we were there ... she kept squeezing our hands. What a fighter! Even up until the end!

Last night she was complaining of pains in her lower abdomen. She thought it was constipation. So we gave her enema { actually she gave herself one ... she was so independent ... even up until death! } We laid in bed together and we said we loved each other.

She was asking for her Mom, so I knew she was dying. her own Mom died when she was 7 ... so maybe her Mom was coming to take her!

And she said to me, "Christy, by this time tomorrow I'll be dead." And she was right! I feel such a peace now. No more chemo, radiation, ports, CAT-Scan's, etc.

I feel this unbelievable peace throughout my body!

I don't know if you want to believe this or not ... I was the biggest nonbeliever ... but I ask my Mom before she died to give us signs that she was okay. So yesterday ( the day she died ) I heard one of her favorite songs on the radio. It was an old Whitney Houston song called, "I Wanna' Dance with Somebody!" She used to crank it in the car and we'd sing and dance to it! And I haven't heard that song in YEARS! Plus, last night I was sleeping and felt something rubbing my leg { my Mom used to rub our legs when we were sick or had to wake up in the morning } ... I woke up to say "What is that?" ... and nothing was there.

{ HordeKing ... you must be laughing at me! LOL Since you are an Atheist! And the other Atheists on the board must be laughing too! Maybe it was wishful thinking or it did happen! }

Christy, I haven't been on in a while. I'm so sorry to here about your mom. I'm sure it was a huge comfort to her to have you there and to be surrounded by your love and support as she passed from your arms into the arms of her mother on the other side. What a brave daughter you are to allow her to complete the cirle that way. I hope you always feel her presence with you and that it gives you strength when your grief feels so heavy.
