OMG!!! I don't believe it, they're letting him back. I hate this man with a passion but he's just what Raw needs, a little more excitement.

What do you think about it?

How can you hate this man with a passion when we see what's become of the WWF/E in the last 12-18 months. The HHH show blows in my mind, and Stone Cold is welcome if for no other reason than to diminish that fucking asshole's political power. We live in a world where Pillman, Owen, Rude, Davey Boy, and Flyboy Rocco Rock, amongst others, die way too soon, and this fucking clown keeps slowly putting that sleeper hold on the golden calf. The WWE messing up Raw is like Leon Lett fumbling through the endzone in the Super Bowl. And HHH is Don Beebe.

How can you watch wrestling today and not be an Austin mark, he's the sun, the moon and stars of the late 90's WWE(with the Rock and Foley of course).

The current rumor (they start quick) is that the storyline they're going to do is have Eric & Steph fight over who signs Austin. Sort of like the Steiner situation.

Do you want to know how cynical the "smart"-fan IWC (internet wrestling community) is? There's even-odds right now that this is all a smoke-screen, that Austin won't be at NWO (and that this is just a ploy to up buyrates of No Way Out).

If Austin does come back, I'll be happy, because a) I've always been an Austin fan, and b) it will mean that Austin WON the pissing contest with the WWE / Vince, which will please me to no end.

I never even considered that. It's so low & underhanded that it is absolutely possible in the today's WWE. How sad.

That may be, Young Jedi. I can stand Austin but the Rock... hell I think the majority of our wrestling community can agree... 'he sucks monkey balls!'

Austin's return could be a ploy but he is definitely what the WWE needs right now. Austin basically single-handledly brought the fans back to the WWF (like myself) after what seemed like forever in the WCW Nitro mode.

His return is a welcome addition in my book.

i'm happy he's coming back as they need some kind of boost right now...he may not be the boost thats needed, but at this point it won't hurt.

The thing i'm upset about is that announcement was done as a BOMBSHELL. to pass off news that a guy may show up at a PPV that is a month away is a fucking joke(especially a guy who has been with the company before). people in attendance want to see that bombshell. the only type of news about a possible appearnace that i would consider a bombshell would be Goldberg.

i hate when they build up announcements then you get a crap result like we did.

Anybody watching the WWE for years have seen the hypes, twists, turns and disappointments. An in ring speech doesn't give much. Be more cynical.

Austin vs. Hogan

I'm not disagreeing with you, because it sounds like the kind of match Vince would probably love to see, but I really hope it oesn't happen. A returning, possibly less than ring-sharp Austin vs. the 72 year-old Icon. That sounds like a 6-moves-total, slow-paced nightmare.

We need Austin's mic skills & attitude back badly...but I pray, at the very least, they put him into a faux-shoot angle with HHH based on his comments in Raw magazine. I still say we'll see Hogan vs Rocky-heel at Mania, but that's my two cents.

The lineup I see so far at Wrestlemania is:

Brock Lesnar vs Kurt Angle
Austin vs HHH
Jericho vs HBK
Vince McMahon vs Hulk Hogan
If they sign him, Goldberg vs Rock
Kane vs RVD

Crips, I'm just calling it. We don't always need to agree. That is what a messageboard is about, a free exchange of ideas... blah, blah.

I'm not sure if I want to see it either. I just see it happening... in my mind anyway.

If Austin vs. Vince happened last WM it would have been bigger than Rock vs. Hogan. Austin and Hogan would have shared the pops instead of it being one-sided.

If the Vince vs. Austin match came to pass at WM, I could sooo see (calling that one as well) Bret do a run-in! Could the wrestling world, take such a huge swerve? Which side would Bret help? He got screwed by Vince and everyone knows he didn't get along with Austin. That would be the blockbuster to top all blockbusters.

Just my opinion, you can go along now.

Well this is from PW Torch:

-Steve Austin confirmed that he is returning to WWE during an autograph appearance in Detroit over the weekend. PWTorch.com reader A.S. attended the session and reported the following: At noon it was announced that Austin was in the building, which meant the autograph session started on time. You could buy autographs for $35.00 each, or Polaroids for $20.00. Austin signed anything that was put in front of him! They sold 500 tickets and Austin stayed until 4 p.m. to sign them all. He was very nice to all his fans and said he was looking forward to coming back to WWE. He looked healthy and appeared to be in great shape! I felt $35.00 was a lot to charge, but it did allow all the fans a few seconds to chat with Austin, who shook hands with everyone!
nWo and Austin = Great news for the WWE.

Confused... how can you hate Austin?! I... I don't see it. He's been what's missing in the WWE since last June. It hasn't been the same since he left and everyone I know told me to take down my poster, don't wear the t-shirt, stop talking about him. But it doesn't work that way.

Now that he's coming back, the WWE has a breath of fresh air. Its been so fucking stale.

... its kinda sad and wrong that the success of a company hangs in the balance because of just one superstar but there's a charisma and natural chemistry that Austin has with wrestling. He's irreplaceable and finally, the WWE admits it. Whatever the beef was (and we'll find out in his interview), I hope its been cleaned up and things can go back to the way they should be. Cuz this era of Ruthless Aggression or whatever it is, is boring.

Austin vs. Hogan

The current rumor going around is that there will be Rock vs. Hogan 2 at No Way Out, with the Rock playing the heel this time. Vince will supposedly help Rock win. This will, presumably, lead into Wrestlemania, where Hogan will take on Vince, and a heel Rock will fight Goldberg (if Bill signs).

I personally think Austin & Hogan, if booked correctly, could be fairly entertaining. At this point in his career, just about the only thing Hogan is capable of is brawling, and Austin can certainly go with that.
