Am I the ONLY Ron & Fez fan alive who liked Don & Mike

So often on this board I see such aggressions towards Don & Mike, and I think it has a lot to do with people having to "take sides" with that whole "fight" between them and O&A...well I'm just posting this to say I thought they were funny as hell (and yes, I like O&A TOO!). It is possible to like more than one show and not have it result in a fist fight.

So I'm just curious...anyone else like the D&M show back in the day?

I think there is a lot to be grateful for D @ M for. Especially if you listen to WJFK. Don Geronimo has or used to have programming (P.D?) control and therefore will have had significant input into R@F being transmitted in Washington. I recall their show in NY and whilst it used to be very good it went at bit "off" towards the end.

thier show was more for the older crowd, 30's and 40's...

just like i feel that the older generation should be more understanding of the younger generation and the things they like, the younger generation should do the same towards the older generation...

Don & Mike have been hysterical lately on WYSP. They have been really laying on the schock humor. They have taken their flatulence samples to another level. I can listen to them talk about BM all day. Mike was talking about cleaning his starfish yesterday and I was actually crying. Good stuff. Lynch me if ya want but I will definitely die laughing.

I listened to D and M only because there was nothing else to listen to. Most of the time it was pretty bad. Don's an ass, Mike could be funny if he stopped kissing Don's ass. Rob was the only really funny one on the staff, but also under Don's thumb, and Buzz was a good straight man. The Elvis stuff they do is pretty good, and the Brian Wilson tapes legitimately had me rolling. Beyond that, I do not miss them, although I'd still take them over Leykis who I can't even listen to.

I have an interesting story as to why I don't like them as much as I used to....a while back I was listening to them, the alternative(leykis), is probably the reason why and i called in to try to win a contest about a funny story or something like that....well, when i got on the air I used the term "man junk"... to which they cut me off and replied...."umm...sir...'man junk' reminds me of more gooder, which reminds me of fired...good day" and they hung up on me

They would have nothing to do with an O & A fan...probably because they knew the only reason i was listening for more than the commercial breaks was because the boys were no longer with us

I gave Don and Mike a try, when they moved live to middays. They had maybe a couple of humorous moments, but then the show became repetitive and trite. I was annoyed with them, so I stopped listening.

Don't get me wrong; I think that ANYONE on the air pales in comparison to Ron & Fez...Ron and Fez are no doubt the King and Queen of the airwaves (you figure out which is which)...I'm just sayin that I enjoyed the other duo as well. Thanks for all the responses though!

I liked D&M and miss them.

I never understood the concept that just because Opie is mad at someone, I should be mad too. And as to the "old" thing, didn't the Daily News last year print Opie's age as 38 and Anthony's as 41? Don was 43 and Mike was 42.

D&M are doing OK in Philly and I would like to see them back in NY. WNEW would be an infinitely better station if they were on live replacing Leykis.

But the more interesting question is will someone start a thread "Am I the Only One Who Likes Leykis?" Is there even one person?

I was a HUGE fan of D&M in the early to mid 90's. I still listen and enjoy the show, but I do think they've jumped the shark. But of what's available in afternoon drive time right now, they're still my choice.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... I still want the lineup of D&M, O&A, R&F! I totally agree that one can be a fan of, and enjoy each different show for what it is.

I don't know all the details of what went down btwn D&M and O&A, and maybe there was more to it then they were able to say on the air, but I think their "feud" hurt both shows. But the hatred that some O&A fans have for D&M (and vice versa) makes me think that maybe something else was going on, and if so, I'd love to know what it was/is. It's gotta be more than "they SUCK!", or "they're not funny!" that led to this "war".

Seriously, Moe? Anyone? I'm just curious if I'm missing something here. R&F are my boys, and if D&M did/said something against them, I'd like to know.

Oh yeah...This was probably one of the funniest radio bits EVER ON RADIO. If you've never heard it, it's hard to explain except that they would have the "phonehore" eating fungus off the nail and gnawing corns. The girls would usually stay on the line because it is money for them(funny how much verbal abuse someone will take for money) Disgusting yet hilarious.

I like 'em all. Been a D&M fan for a long time, been an R&F fan as long as they've been on WJFK. O&A had their ups and downs but were generally funny. I do miss the Dice impressions. <P>
Dream lineup for me would be O&A in the morning, Sports Junkies middays, D&M afternoons, and R&F at night. Rerun it all overnight. <P>

I agree with Max_Volume. O&A in the morning going up against the real ogre in all of this (STERN) would be hysterical. I don't know too much about the Sports Junkies but I've read nothing but good things about them on other sites.

The main point of this, though, is R&F should stay right where they are. I would applaud anything that would support that happening. How about Iris in the mornings?

I liked Don & Mike. They had some good bits: Dial A Ho, was great!!! They would call a Sex Line and use only three sound bites from the monster in Young Frankenstein. No matter what the girl said there was only these responses: good, no good, groan <P>
My favorite was the bust they did on Jack Cassidy's bi-sexuality. I have it on tape and always laugh when I hear it. <P>
