Nose bleeds

It gets very dry in my apartment and every morning I wake up with a bloody nose. Why is this? It never happens in the summer. This has been the worst winter for it so far.

And, yes, I know, the doctor told me if I just kept my fingers out of there, I wouldn't get so many nose bleeds. :-)

my youngest sister used to get them all the time when she was a kid. they were really gross...she use to pass all of these blood clots and stuff, it looked like she was getting her period out of her nose.

it has since stopped.

The dry air causes the internal walls of the nose to dry up and that is when they can crack, causing bleeding. I would suggest getting a humidifier for your place. The reason it does not happen in the summer is due to the humidity levels, especially if you keep your windows open, thus keeping your nose walls wet and uncracked.

Just my theory.

You might want to try putting a dish of water by your heater at night before you go to sleep.

The heat will evaporate the water and give your nose a break.

It works for me and for my roommate!

time I was five. Imagine

Nose bleeds occur more often in the winter, b/c the heat is drying.

A hot air humidifier will probably help. Some do well with a cold air humidifier. Personally, I had a very difficult time with my CPAP machine (for sleep apnea) until I got a heated humidifier attachment.

Not a theory- The membranes will dry out and crack -a good humidifier will work wonders!!

I've had them since childhood.

I had my nose Quaterized, but it wore off to quickly to make it worth all the $$$ it cost.
