View Full Version : A TOUGH QUESTION...

I'm suprised this has never been brought up (and maybe it has before my time), but does anyone from the board know anything about Ron and Fez's stand up careers? Were they succesful? Does anyone have any audio of either of them doing stand up (I know that would be like having the holy grail, but its worth a shot).
I'm mostly curious because they are so good at reactional comedy, interacting with others and building bits and lines off of callers and guests, and I wonder how it would be to hear them just talking solo for however long. Anyways, just wondering if anyone knows anything about that.

Did I stump everyone? I find it hard to believe that no one but me finds this interesting...

All I know is that they were both on the Ron & Ron show in Florida going all the way back to the late 80's. Check this out for more info: http://www.ronandron.com/index.html <P>

I don't know how many board members have been "Ron and Fez Fans Since Day One" as most people here are from the NY area or heard R&F by way of O&A so I doubt you'll find too many who have seen Bennington or Whatley do stand up

I remember Ron saying he toured with a circus as a comedian. I don't recall Fez ever saying he did stand-up.
If anybody ever calls and gets on the air, this is a good question to ask.

They don't talk about their times in Florida because there are still cases pending in State court.

There are cases pending about their stand up careers? I'm not talking about the radio show they had in Florida...

Ron used to do stand up and did own a comedy club in Clearwater Florida called Bennington's Comedy Scene.
Between the club and the Ron and Ron show, I don't think he had much time for standup, limiting himself to being the emcee.
While at his club he met Fez who was in the aidience, who became a guest then regular on the radio show (much as Norton did).
Any tapes that exist would be of Ron from the early to mid 80's. I don't know of any.
Greetings from Tampa: The weather is here, wish the radio was beautiful.
