View Full Version : The Four Horsemen Return...I Think

For anyone who saw RAW last night saw the faction of Triple H, Batista, Randy Orton, and Ric Flair beat up Scott Steiner last night. I think the rumors are true. Here's an update from WWE.com off of theri RAW results page:

A powerful faction appears to be in the making on RAW. As Scott Steiner battled Batista in singles action, he suddenly found himself fending off attacks from his opponent, Triple H, Ric Flair and Randy Orton. After beating Steiner into a bloody mess, all four men triumphantly showed off Big Poppa Pump's mangled face as the highlight of their celebration!

::Bashes head on table.:: I shudder to think about the mess this will turn wrestling into. Orton and Batista not proven enough to be Horsemen and Hunter is just horrible

i don't want it to be called the horsemen, but i think this group could be okay. not sure why, but i like Orton and he makes me laugh. Batista has a chance to be cool. he's not the same, but i'll always like Flair. and i have to put up with HHH no matter what anyway. so i like that they are trying something new and hope this group ends up being good.

It could be ok, you're right, but the thing that will make it nauseating (other than the fact that HHH is invoilved) is the fact that they will call it the Horsemen.

I prepare to weep bitterly.I may have to join the festivites.

Do not sour the legendary status of the 4 Horsemen again with this combination (trying to block out Mongo from recent memory).

I love Batista, Flair and HHH to a point but Orton (although of wrestling lineage) is still not that good (solid mic skills and mediocre talent at best... wait he's the second coming of the Rock, dear God!). They can be a faction but like walking joint said, don't use the name.

For the love of tradition... don't do it.

The Horsemen pretty much died with the "Black Scorpion" angle. There was a glimmer of hope when it was Flair, McMicheal, Benoit, and Pillman, and later when Malenko Joined, but neither lasted long enough to make an impact.

Flair is done, and only one man can realistically take over the reigns as leader of the Horsemen, but the WWE will never let Shane Douglas back. Too bad...

I'm a huge wrestling fan, but for about 4 or 5 years, it just got so cheesy I couldn't stand it anymore. Plus, I was in high school, so for a few years I thought I was 'above' wrestling.

This is the era that is focused on by WrestleCrap, and is famous for having some of the worst angles of all time. I totally missed the whole Black Scorpion angle. And I know there is some real, genuine hatred between Ric Flair & the Franchise, but I honestly have no idea what it is about.

I agree that Douglas is the man I would most like to see lead a new faction in the WWE, but the idea of him leading any incarnation of the Horsemen seems wholly impossible without the death of Ric Flair.

As far as the new HHHorsemen are concerned, I think it loses some pop by having Flair in the "consigliere"/no wrestling role, and not having a 4th wrestling member.

I don't know a lot about NWA/early WCW history, but I always thought a faction should be like the early nWo and post-HBK version of DX: 1 World Title contender, (possibly 1 US/IC Title contender), and a genuine tag team. In today's WWE, there is no midcard title, and Batista & Orton aren't a tag team. I don't know, it just doesn't seem right to me...but then again, nothing on Raw makes a whole lotta sense to me.

I guess I'm just afraid of change (I don't like this...this is not what I'm used to!)

It wouldn't be bad if HHH, Orton, or Batista (sorry, but he has no image besides a brutal weapon, not four horseman material) was in it...I'd like to hear the music once again though.

You've hit upon the very essence of what the 4 Horsemen were all about.

It was ALWAYS about one man - Flair. He was the champion, and the other 3 wrestlers were there to protect him and the gold around his waste. That was literally the entire purpose for the stable.

The really, really depressing thing about this new Horsemen (and I pray to God they just come up with another name for this new stable), is that it'll be HHH in the Flair role.

Peachy hurling = hot.

And I think it could work with Ric as the overseer role, and not one of the four. Mongo McMichael wasn't much of a presence either, yet he was a horseman. It gives some of the newer guys a chance to develop themselves by being with the more experienced horsemen... as long as HHH is willing to share the spotlight.
