The best way is to improve reading comprehension is to practice reading comprehension.
Kaplans has many courses (usually prep for GRE, GME, LSAT, SAT, PSAT, etc) that focus on this valuable and necessary skill. Enroll in a course, or get the book and start taking tests and analyze your responses.
The more you put into it, the more you'll get from it.

Your Reading Comprehension
will probably benefit more from
poking yourself in both eyes with
an awl than from taking a Kaplan
course.
There's a book called "Reading
Smart" by the experts at The
Princeton Review. Take it out of
the library and give it a shot...

I did quite well on my LSATS (96th percentile) with Kaplans.
But any course which affords you lots of opportunity to practice this skill will do you good.
A course is preferable to picking up a book b/c there's more structure to it and you can ask the instructors questions.
