You must set the ad_network_ads.txt file to be writable (check file name as well).

it sounds like the console is on fire...what are those awful digital static noises? they're really starting to piss me off...im not hearing things am i?

you're not hearing things...it's not too bad for me...half a dozen times during broadcast maybe.
