Are Pharmacists Better Than The Rest of Us?

I noticed as I was picking up a prescription the other day, that the pharmacy area is always on a higher level than the rest of the store. Why is this? In almost every one I go into they're like a foot above everyone. They're must be a reason for this.

Maybe it's like a studio and
they need the extra
insulation. Maybe they have
a lot of wire under the floor
because they have so many
computers. Maybe.... I don't
know. I don't think it's that
way at all pharmacies,
anyway.

maybe it's a long island pharmacy thing, but i see it everywhere. at cvs, genovese, duane reede, rite aid.

As far as I can remember, the pharmacy counter has always been high. Maybe it's so the pharmacist can look down chick's blouses!!

Actually, it's to provide the pharmacist with a greater ability to view larger parts of the store and prevent (or at least discourage) theft.
