Time for DC to help our Friends up North

Ok, since were uncertain as to if Ron and Fez will be on in NY tonite, we might as well take premeptive action and get working.

Remeber how OnA had a show recap on Foundrymusic.com, and it posted by listeners and all that great stuff?

It's time for the DC boys to step up and help out or friends up north.

We could have certain people take a certain hour of the show and post its happenings over the night.

Or better yet, maybe some SU feeds if possible.

This sucks for you guys in NY, and I know youd do the same for us if they left DC and not NY.

It looks like their flagship station, Infinity's NYC hot talker WNEW-FM, has started stunting for a new sound. In response to all the SU discussion... <P>
I have been a loyal listener of Ron and Fez since they first came on the air in NY, during the dot com days. I never became a regular caller, I never posted on the message board, and I never met the boys themselves, but I was there with my radio on every day. During some of the especially tough times that I went through, when it seemed like I had no one, I could always turn the show on at night and find a way to laugh and to feel better for a few hours. <P>
Last night, I was horrified when I turned on NEW and heard music. I kept listening, and kept hearing more music. I knew to go to ronfez.net because that would be where I would find out the latest info. <P>
I am definitely heartbroken over this, even though we all kind of knew it was coming sooner or later. I joined the board today, and this is my first post. I don't want to lose Ron and Fez, and it is comforting to know there are so many of you out there who don't want to lose them either. I just want to join everyone in support of the show, and to hopefully be in on the SU if/when it begins. <P>

This is a reminder:

- Where can I find an Internet Stream of the Ron and Fez Show?
Infinity Broadcasting prohibits it's programs from being broadcast via the web. Infinity actively shuts down and prosecutes any rebroadcast or pirate stream of the show. That being said, pirate streams do exist and many members of RonFez.net do use them. BUT, to post the addresses on this board would be asking to shut them down. Nobody wants that.

So, if you are looking for a stream, we suggest you become an active member of the board, gain the trust of members that seem like they use the pirate streams and try to covertly ask them for the stream. Getting an internet stream is much like buying crack, in more ways than one.

Any post asking for streams will be deleted by the moderators.
This thread will not be locked as long as it does not devolve into an SU discussion.

I've been part of the O&A SU scene and am willing to help out anyway I can.. as in relaying, encoding, etc.. <P> at the moment I've been catching what feeds I can and when feeds werent available pulling them off the newgroups. <P>if nothing else if a feed isnt available yet, can someone be kind enough to encode the show (I use totalrecorder) and post them to the newsgroup (with or without commercials is fine with me.. ) just need my fix.. let me know if I can do anything... <P> <P> <P> <P>

It sucks what happened. I am relieved that R&F are here to stay in DC, but no words can express what the Guys in NY are going through. They worked so hard to keep them, and they end up loosing them. If anything, we down here in DC don't deserve them.

Seriously what can I, "Mr. DC-Listener," do?? I do drive by WJFK everyday on my way home, and occasially I see the "2" standing out near the side door. I could well, you know, have a GTA3 flashback... heh. (Yes, I use humor in sad situations.)

I will do anything. I think we should organize a "rally" downhere as well. In the radio Biz nothing is certain.

Well, I'm working the late shift tonight, so I'll be listening, but it'll have to be up to Reed and the others to do a recap as thw show goes on...IF it's live yet. Ask the mods to set up an "official" thread for the DC recaps, to keep things under control.

As for being able to listen up in NYC, hang tight, some of us here in DC are making moves with the fans up your way to get things running...fingers crossed, everything should be set this weekend...

DC, you Washington people have our best now and what you can do for us now is to rally for the Ron and Fez New York Listeners. We had them taken away from us without warning and now you have the laughter. New York has had enough tears and our boys helped us through the roughest times. By the hand of Infinity, New York shared Ron and Fez with Washington and now you have them indefinitely. I know that Ron and Fez, if they get a really good following in Washington, they will be there for a long time. They are not like O and A where they will do something outrageous to get fired. They are naughty, but they are not outright insane. So, they will root themselves there in DC. We look to ourselves and we look to you now, to ask the manipulators of Infinity Broadcasting to join our cities in radio harmony and have Ron and Fez brought back to New York. Not speaking for the New York listeners, but I would even settle for the broadcasting via JFK and let thme stay in Washington. However, the listeners here did more than just listen. They had a up close and personal relationship with Ron and Fez. So, for some, their voices will not be enough. However, we plead for the baby steps of DC to at least let us also hear the voices that we have been used to for so many minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years. We need the laughs and we the love also.
