The day after Rock 'n Ribs, my husband and I were talking about how R & F treated us, and what a good crowd the people we had met through the show were. The final concensus was that they were like friends but not. That may not make much sense on the surface but I don't think we are the only ones to feel this way. We never got the feeling that we were "dealt with" because we were fans. I would like to know what other radio hosts would ask after my husband every time they saw me even if months had elapsed between meetings.
WNEW is dead to me now, my friends are gone.

I can not believe this. I've been on a tour bus and in hotels since last April. For the last 9 months, I've been whining aboot NOT being able to listen to R&F. I finally got home on Thursday and it was soooo good to hear the boys and the callers again.
Fast foward 72 hours: R&F are no more. No farewell show, no blow-out road show, ...nothing. R&F and the listeners have been extremely loyal to the station and each other. For the powers-that-be to pull the plug w/o a proper send-off is an insult to us and them. Screw that station. I dont care if they play MY music! Killing off R&F w/o giving them (or us) any closure was a classless move.
A big thanks to R&F, their crew, the callers, and all the posters. We may not have the greatest listenership in NY radio, but defintelyu the greatest LISTENERS! And, without question.... the greatest hosts.

Ron and Fez....take good care. NY radio is only there for Traffic and Weather now.

I am confused are you saying that Ron and Fez were not talented enough???

If it was managed right the station could have been saved but buy using an AM show from another station in the market, replaying the only ratings winner the next day (eroding ratings). and Hiring a DJ that outwardly hated NY and got pathetic numbers before the management effectivly ruined the format.

Hey they were 29 out of 40 overall thats not dead last. But management gave up.

Who's gonna hire Billy and Black Earl now? Listening to old sound bites is sort of like breaking up with your girlfriend and listening to recordings of her voice over and over again! It was cold, dark, gloomy, like a family funeral! Hey, it was 6 degrees yesterday!, but if I would have heard one of Fezzy's "Budday's" on the radio, it would have become summer right away! I just stared at my radio at 7pm and wondered what I could listen to in order to fill the empty space! I don't like lots of the music stations, the sports talk stations are okay!, but there's not much happening in New York sports to talk about!LOL! It's not like any New York team has a real shot at doing anything! Ron & Fez were one of the reasons that I stayed in New York when I returned from Los Angeles!, in which in Los Angeles, the talk radio is "WONDERFUL" I don't know, it seems like New York City is slowly, but surely becomming a "CURSED" city where things can't go well for very long!, and we don't have very much to hold our heads up about anymore! I feel like I'm sinking in quicksand here in New York. You know, if you come to New York City, and you're bad, we throw you the hell out! But, if we fall in love with you, in the way that we have with Ron & Fez, it runs "DEEPLY", and we will fight to the death for you with the tenacity of a "Pit Bull" I just don't know how much longer are we New Yorkers going to be made to hang our heads in anguish, and dismayal?
