I recently realized the disapproval of Rock's moviemaking. But consider the following:

(1)The odds are against wrestlers health in the business.

(2)Success doesn't come easy-more so in wrestling.

(3)Wrestling isn't highly regarded in the "mainstream".

(4)The Rock is the first big budget movie actor/wrestler. His appeal to Hollywood reflects well on his abilities in the ring and on camera.

(5)Wrestling allowed the Rock to be discovered for Hollywood.

(6)By starring in films, the Rock is preparing for the future-When he is too old or too injured to wrestle.

Alright thats fine. Then hes an actor not a wrestler.

I used to LOVE the rock, i was the biggest fan in the world. Now I hate him. I have no problem with him making movies, but then don't talk that shit about him being a wrestler. "The WWE is and always will be my home". Burn in hell Rock, or why don't you have your glorious comeback and win the SmackDown! belt instead of someone like ohh say Benoit.

my love for the the rock left with his sideburns. i have no remorse for him and i think he sucks. id rather see anyone they have in the company now, except HHH, rather than the rock. all the talent they have pouring in and with austin coming back ireally dont think they need him. Angle is the flagship on SD! and when Austin comes back he'll be the flagship on RAW, i have no need for Dewayne Johnson and i hope he breaks his legs. BRING BACK FOLEY. LONG LIVE DREAMER

I recently realized the disapproval of Rock's moviemakingYour point?

Simple. Rock isn't an actor or a wrestler.

I thoroughly enjoy him being booed mercilessly everytime his doctored mug appears on the screen. It is great that outside of Toronto and New Yorkers (we booed him for a long time) the other marks wised up to his played act.

Come up with more nursery rhymes, Dwayne. No one gives a flyin' fuck anymore.

Fuck Rock. :)

My point is I don't hate the Rock because of the movies. It was a rare opportunity that he capitalized on.

ding ding ding

I've hated the rock since he somehow got popular becuase he has no moves. I cringed when Benoit lost to the Rock TWICE, because the Rock doesn't deserve shit. It was just more of Vince pushing who he wants, and "tricking" the fans into liking someone. True even Austin doesn't do that many moves, but he at least brawls believably. The Rock always seems to be putting on a show, and thta's not always good for wrestling. He stinks and i don't like him. The Rock sucks, the People's Elbow sucks, and the millions and millions suck for ever cheering him.

Having heard your opinions, here's mine.

I wouldn't discourage the Rock from making movies if that's what he really wants to do. Bottom line, if his heart isn't in the ring anymore, then he shouldn't be in the ring- period.

He recently signed another movie contract to do a remake of a 1970's movie which starts filming in the summer. Heldorado (sp) is still due to come out. I think he should concentrate on the movies and leave wrestling for a while.

When he does come back, Rock has to earn his spot in the top five superstars. Its unfair that he can come and go as he pleases but still grab the belt like they've been holding it for him. That's not cool. He also needs to revamp his wrestling technique cuz all those slaps and smacks and flips for a guy his size and stature is ridiculous.

People are entitled to want to do more than one thing and wrestling IS a business that doesn't guarantee longevity. He's still young and feels the need to conquer other goals. Why begrudge him that? However, if he makes the choice to return to wrestling, he's gotta mean it. This isn't an after-school program or a latchkey program. You don't sit and chill until something else comes for you. And I like the Rock.

But that's just MY opinion ;D

You didn't write that seriously did you? I mean you WERE being sarcastic? Because unless all wrestling has an "applause" sign people are going to cheer for who they're going to cheer for. Do you honestly believe Vince tricked you into liking the Rock? Dude you've gotta stop making statements like that. I mean WOW. Rocky gained popularity as a HEEL. They tried to push him as a face and these so called "tricked" people spit on it. Then they let him be a heel and the fans gravitated to that character. No one got tricked except maybe you and if that's so we'll find someone to cuddle and spoon feed you later.

Another thing...

In Vince Mcmahon's word wrestling has gotten "sophisticated." Acting has become an even more vital part of the business. Wrestlers are "actors."

yes and that is why wrestling has been garbage since (with a few months exception) the invasion angle. bret hart was never considered an actor, but by many hes considered to be the best of all time. coincidence? no!!! fuk this other shit and let the talent shine in the ring, we dont need an elaborate feud, just a believable one. and stop having good mic skills as one of the requirements to hold the title.

countdown to mania and retirement of phixion....

and stop having good mic skills as one of the requirements to hold the title. If that's so then how do you explain Triple H? Unless you count long winded and boring as having good mic skills.
