O&A laughing all the way to the bank

Less then a 6 months
removed from O&A by some
buffoons from Virginia(and
Al Dukes of coarse) the
station we once knew as
WNEW never fell into the
black hole of radio. Not
even skeletons like Carol
Miller and Muni could save it
this time! Never!
And while we sit here and
complain and whine O&A
with their fat contracts being
paid out are enjoying the
the last laugh. They must
be falling off their chairs
laughing watching the
station that they along with
other talents like Ron & Fez
helped ressurrect. Now it's
at it's knees!
Do they really think they will
compete with Z100 and
WKTU, or the other garbage
that is New York top 40
radio? Personally I never
liked the all talk format.
They could have done it like
WYSP does in Philly mixing
music, talk, and even
Eagles football all in one! It
sounds homerish but I
knew eventually talk radio
would fail. Talk is a fad,
bottom line is people want
music, talk is the after fact. If
they were smart and had
some balls they would have
changed the format to rock
and at least attempted to
compete with KROCK, at
least tries, maybe be a little
more creative and play the
Thin Lizzy or Kiss between
Linkin Park and Incubus,
then at night had Ron and
Fez, maybe slip in a
syndicated Don and Mike
(OK BARF). But no they
decided that New York
needs yet another to 40
station! WHAT A JOKE!!!
Now Howard is all I along
with many other fellow
listeners may have left!
Eccentric, quirky, darker
humor like R&F lost yet
again to suits and people
who have no idea on how
radio should work!

Good luck trying to stay
afloat against Z100 you
foolish suits! Maybe by
August you will want to
squeeze another Spanish
station in, or better yet
some country, we all know
how well that does in New
York!

Moderators do what you
want with this thread
because I don't give a crap
anymore! Rude and Rude
or PPP, it doesn't even
matter no more because
we lost again! We could try
our Save Ron and Fez
campaigns, and I will be
there, but in the end we
lose, they win!!!

I don't think O & A are laughing about this. they lost their jobs too (they most likely are receiving even close to their full salaries). Ant is still very good friends with the boys, and Opie, well I think he's a shut in these days. They got screwed over for doing their job. It's tempting to blame them, but you have to remember that they got paid to push the envelope. It's the station itself, and Infinity broadcasting that's to blame.

The lineup should be:
Howard: 6-10:30
10:30-3:00 Kane and Cabbie
3-7 O&A
7-11 Ron and Fez
11pm-6am Music

-Howard is supposedly leaving in what 2 years. Inifnity should show a set of balls and put O&A back on the air. Make them play music like they originally did so they can say that they changed their ways. Let Ron and Fez do their show after. Or they could play a song every now and than too. Krock's ratings would skyrocket and Mel would make more money.

-The only thing stopping this is Howard throwing a hissyfit about O&A. He calls Ron and Fez clones even though they are not real shock jocks and are nothing like Howard's show.
-This should happen as soon as the court case finally ends or the start of the next book to give a little more time to let people forget what happened with St. pats

If you have to, pay Howard more money to go along with it, because it would benefit the entire station.

-Turn WNEW than whatever you want. So than the 3 people who got ratings would be on the same station. The weak links, Ferrell, Don and Mike and Leykis would be gone.

i agree with teenweek. If RaF decided to play music and talk-similar to star and Buckwild on hot97-things may happen for ron and fez. By the way i expected to hear ron and fez on monday and then i heard that top 40m crap. Do you understand how angry i was. 1010WINS is the most listened to Radio station in the country. There is a difference. WINS can say they have over 20 million listeners.. yea but what is the average amount of time people listen? 10 seconds for the weather and traffic?
