Will Elliot Segal, morning drive guy at Clear Channel's DC101, bolt for a like time slot at Infinity's "new" WNEW in NYC, which is flipping from hot talk to something else - probably adult album alternative rock - as we speak? Not a done deal yet, as CC's legal eagles will likely try to throw a wrench in it. Segal used to co-host mornings at the Big Apple's contemporary WHTZ (Z100) before he came to DC a few years ago. Segal's a big hockey fan. DC's only got one team. The NYC area has three.....

Elliot To NYC, Update - 1/29 - We're hearing more rumblings that Infinity is trying to sign Clear Channel's DC101 morning man Elliot Segal for its "new" WNEW in NYC. Hot talk WNEW entered a stunting mode on Monday and will probably end up with either an alternative rock (AAA) format or some other kind of talk-ish format by mid-February. Among the possibilities - Elliot would move to NYC to do morning drive and continue to be heard on DC101. However, we hear that there's no done deal yet, as Clear Channel's legal eagles are apparently asking for a huge pile of "compensation" from Infinity to allow Elliot to be heard on a station that competes with its stable of Big Apple outlets. Elliot used to co-host mornings at the Big Apple's contemporary WHTZ (Z100), a CC station, before he came to DC a few years ago.....

I agree reed i had always said the junkies would have been great in N.Y. because they so rarely talk about sports and very much cater to the young crowd. Plus it was always there policy not to trash other shows, plus they use that great fez drop of him saying silly donkey
