Skin tags and why they bleed......ALOT!

So occasionally under the arm and one evry now and agin on the neck, I get these little skin tags which are just little mini things hanging off the skin. My sister gets alot more than I do and Dad has quite a bit too. But why? Where do these come from ? Is there something I can do to prevent from getting them? Why do they bleed so much after I cut them off even not immediately close to the skin? Any info HordeKing will as always be greatly appreciated!

Where do these come from ?

They come from the skin being rubbed......I get them on one side of my neck due to my leather guitar strap. DO NOT cut them off, it may cause an infection. A skin doctor charged me $100 ( cosmetic surgery, not covered by insurance ) to remove up to 15 of them, but I only had about 6, so I asked "So that means I have credit for 9 more, and can I come back later for free removal ?" .........the douche didn't even get my joke.

Sorry Fluff, but they're correct.

Cutting off the skin tags could lead to dangerous infections. The tags themselves can be cancerous.

Obesity and genetics have been linked to the formation of skin tags.

I had like 5 skin tags in my armpits. So I cut some off with nail clippers and some with scissors. They bled for a while, but they never came back, and there was no scaring at all.
