How can we make viacom see our numbers?

Viacom is going by simple ratings numbers by their stupid decisions. How can we get them to listen that this show requires unique analysis? Card holders number upwards of 30,000. This alone proves at leat 60,000 listeners.Does anyone log the phone banks.R&F callers range about 3 seconds per call. That adds up to thousands of callers per night? anyone in the industry knows less than 1/10 of the listeners of any show call in. Multiply the nightly callers by ten.THATS HUGH. Also, an average duration of time that alistener listens to most radio shows is maybe an hour or an hour and a half. On this show it is double or triple. if we can get these empty suits to see this, maybe we can change things.

I have two cards so divide that number by at least half. Keep writing your letters or contacting the press if you like. I think the best thing we can do is make RonFez.Net as strong and large and close a community as possible so people start paying attention to who we are and who we support.

I agree and disagree. We are not organized enough. We are split into many factions that trickle in diferent directions. We have to unite in one area to show these guys our shear numbers. They are out there but we must prove it. Ratings systems are very inaccurate. also, the show itself had a high rating for a show that keeps shifting time slots. I defy any suit to show me another show that switched 6 times in 6 months and still kept its audience.

Right, we are not organized enough. What we need to do is some how get everyone together, perhaps set a time, date, place etc announce it on the event calendar and on the topic list. Set up some sort of rally be it at the studio, in front of infinity's offices, whatever. Not something like Bar 9(hey that is for warming up afterward). Once time place and all that is set, somehow get the media involved. NY 1, CBS, NBC whatever, try to get it on the news, get the newspapers involved, hell maybe even get Hinkley to attend it with us. Also as Jeff said, keep the letters going and going. If one rally doesn't work, keep doing them. As someone else pointed out, e-mail is all well and good, but does get deleted in bulk, hard paper like letters, post cards and faxes work better. We need to get the message out, and make sure the dolts at infinity get it.

Maybe this is a stupid ideabut there are almost 16,000 message board members.If we can get each member to send a $1 check to the same place, maybe one of the old board members,made out to viacom, and then swamp them with 16,000 checks, we can prove we are not bogus(our numbers) and show we are loyal.16,ooo loyal fans are a good indication of how hugh the amount of listeners are and would be sure to garner big advertising dollars

I don't think it was Ron & Fez's ratings that they were concerned about, it was the station in general. Even if R & F were getting decent ratings (though the station did nothing to promote them and moved them around so many times it would have killed a lesser show), that still can't make up for not getting ratings all day long. <P>
They tried Don & Mike and Lick-ass with no success, and figured they gave talk a shot and that's it. <P>
And even though this is a great site and we should support it, if all we do is post messages on the board, then in the words of the great Chris Farley, we're not going to amount to JACK SQUAT!! <P>
Keep up the letters and calls. They expect an uproar for the first week or two, then expect us to go away. DON'T GIVE IN. DON'T GO AWAY. <P>
If they think they can make a buck off of Ron & Fez by keeping them here, they'll bring them back somewhere, somehow!! <P>

Viacom doesn't care about our numbers... they care about sponsors and something called CASH $$$. That's what all this is about. It's always about the money with companies like this. Free enterprise in this country is a failure, and this is a prime example. What do they care about a single station. They have a lot more than this one. Some asshole, in some office, in his nice leather chair in front of his nice oak desk, signed some paper, and here is the result. And now that guy can buy a nice leather couch for his office too. That's how this shit happens. <P>

Anyone who lives out near the Palisades center, go to the top floor by the RNN booth. I know its a mini station but they'll interview anyone. Bring signs get their attention and get on the air. I'm going next week.
