View Full Version : I know R+F cannot be replaced, but is there ANY other spontaneous talk on the NY dial other than Howard?

Last night on my drive home, I went up and down the FM and AM dial. I could not find any talk other than the same old "Rush Limbaugh" politcal banter, some sports simulcasts, and 10 seconds worth of program director approved, retarded comments from top 40 DJ's. If we HAVE to move on for now, does anyone have suggestions???

In the morning when Howard is in commercial or when he is busy denying that he cheats on his girlfriend Beth, I listen to Star and Bucwild- they are on Hot 97 (97.1).

NYC talk radio is a WASTELAND now.
CD's from NOW until Ron and Fez and/or O&A are back on.

spontaneous talk? No, my friend. That is dead in NY.

Craig (former sportsguy) is on NJ 101.5FM 2pm-7pm slot. Not too bad, I mostly listen due to nostalgia. I used to listen to him during the SID/Craig and Craig/Blaine days. I was one of the 'NEW junkies; would listen all day, even if I didn't like the shows. Other than that, nothing. :(

The Jersey Guys are beat 80% of the time, so they're pretty tough to listen to, besides the fact that you get news, traffic, and commercials every 10 minutes.
It's only an hour a week, but 7 Second Delay on 91.1 WFMU is pretty amusing. Tune in on Wednesdays from 6-7PM.

You might want to change your discussion topic. Stern hasn't been spontaneous for a long long time.

Honestly, spirited, intelligent, non blustery, political talk can be heard with Bachelor and Alexander on WABC from 10pm -1am. You WILL get smarter listening to this, and I've heard them called the politcal ron and fez(one of the fellas has a Fez voice).

Prarie Home Companion is still great radio, but it's only on Saturday evenings with a replay on Sunday mornings. I also agree that this thread title is a little bogus because Stern hasn't been spontaneous since before his movie came out.
