View Full Version : Your Favorite Wrestling Feuds

My all time favorite feuds had to be of Surfer Boy Sting against The Great Muta. Their battles for the NWA World Television title were amazing.

When a title like the TV title was actually something wrestlers strived to win. Amazing how over a ten to fifteen year period wrestling could go from NWA/WCW 60 minute matches to WWE's global takeover of everyone of their direct competitors.

So tell me guys, what are some of your alltime favorite feuds?

Lynn/RVD Sandman/Raven (for the storyline alone... how do you best fuck with your opponent? Steal his family away!) Magnum TA/Nikita Koloff (geez, I've just made myself feel old :( ) Savage/Steamboat Flair/Steamboat <P>

Very cool thread, FatTony.

My faves:

1. Raven / Dreamer
The one thing that ECW really did right.

2. Flair / Steamboat
These two put on some of the best wrestling matches of all time. To this day, I have yet to see anyone in North America create such perfection as these two did with their 1989 series, although many have come close.

3. Koloff / Magnum T.A.
No need to feel old, Peachy, this was a GREAT feud. It's a great tragedy that Magnum's career was cut short. He could have gone on to become of the greats in the business.

4. Sting / Vader
Sting always put on a good show against Vader, and Vader proved that size doesn't matter - big men CAN have good workrate.

5. Bret Hart / Shawn Michaels
Better, IMO, than the Hart / Austin feud, because this one had actual hate. So strong you can feel it just radiate between the two of them.

6. Austin / Vince
Have to include it, as it was the feud that literally brought the WWF(E) back from the brink and made them dominate the business once again. Of course, as usual in the wrestling business, the storyline was eventually run into the ground. Then drug up again, and ran into the ground AGAIN. Then drug up...you get the idea.

7. Hulk Hogan / Savage vs. Dibiase / Andre
I'm consolidating these, because the two sides often teamed with each other to take on their enemies. Hogan and Andre had arguably one of the most (if not THE most) memorable feud of the 80s, and Dibiase was bar none one of the best heels in the business during his prime who had memorable feuds with Savage, and Hogan (although the latter never became what it should have been due to politics).

8. Sting / Flair
A feud that lasted for over a decade, every since a young Sting took the legend to the limit at the Clash. Be ye not deceived by the bastardized version you saw on WWE TV - the REAL WCW died on the final Nitro, when these two met for the last time, embracing one another after the match.

9. Toshiaki Kawada / Mitsuhara Misawa
The feud which arguably led to some of the best heavyweight matches of ALL TIME. What was once a competition to see who would become the "ace" of All Japan degenerated into true hatred, especially after Misawa pissed upon the memory of Baba by defecting and forming his own company - taking most of the roster with him, and sending All Japan into a downward spiral that it still has not come out of.
The end has not come for these two yet - rumor has it that they may yet face again.

10. Antonio Inoki vs. Shohei "Giant" Baba
You think the battle between Vince McMahon and Eric Bischoff was heated? Fuck that. The war between Inoki and Baba, strong style vs. king's road, was strong enough to make Vince & Eric's squabbles look like Torrie fighting against Dawn Marie.

Isnt it sad that in the WWE Lynn/RVD only rated as the main event of Sunday Night Heat?
I was there in DC when it happened...Lynn's last WWF match, where he tore his knee up and was never heard from again..

I gotta say Vince and Austin just for its entertainment value alone. That feud played out so well, nothing since then has outdone it.

What's worse...to make it fit in the nice, clean spot they decided on for it after the fact, they had to cut out about 6 minutes of the match...so it could have been another classic, but we'll never know.

I highly doubt that, unless Kawada leaves All Japan Pro-Wrestling, which I doubt even more no matter if Mutoh is in charge or not.
