if you get there early enough they won't card you cause it is after all a restaurant too. but that does mean you have to get there a little earlier than you'd like to. as the night goes on they do card at the door, but it's usually very laxed. like someone said before, it's hit or miss.

Guys, there is an alternative for those who have cars. It is more cost effective, and less a strain on schedules. Simply drive towards the Lincoln Tunnel and take the last exit before it (Weehawken/Hoboken). At the first light, continue straight down the ramp to the next light in which you need to make a left onto Boulevard East. At this moment you are in Weehawken and the best plan is to find some parking at the top of the road where the view of the city starts near the monument and park. Spots are usually readily available and they haven't fined in years as the signs say. This spot is frequented by out of towners so the police don't ticket on the street as a whole (usually), and even if they did, it's much cheaper than NYC parking and the thought of loosing your car to the government. Next, simply have a buck and 75 cents ready to jump on the next gypsy bus heading the direction you just came from (south) which will take you to Port Authority 42nd street bt 9th and 8th. From here, just remember where the bus home leaves from (they continue until 4-5 am and resume at 6ish. Don't ask why they shut down for an hour or two, yet sometimes they don't at all. And for another $1.75, the bus zips through the Lincoln and stop the bus when you get back to your car. I live right on the bluff in Weehawken and many a friend have done this very thing. Just thought I'd give you another option. The total for the bus and taxi should be just over $15 pending on how you tip the cabbies. See you all there! Spooooooooonnnnnn!!!!!

Find a place to park.

From the LINCOLN TUNNEL:

Try to stay in the right tube.
Coming out of the tunnel, take your FIRST right.

Go through the first light.

At the next light (McDonald's on your right/Port Authority, drug store on your left) go LEFT. Look to your left as you drive by Port Authority; wave at Jackie Gleason statue.

Go right at 57th Street. Go through first light, see Hard Rock on your left.

Find a place to park.

Note that there are now those new meter thingies on W57th (pump in quarters (one quarter for every 15 minutes) or parking card, get your reciept to put in your car on the dashboard, viewable through the windshield). Parking on Broadway is more expensive metered (one quarter for every 10 minutes) between W 57th and 56th, and free on the Hard rock side of 57th.

Parking in a garage is VERY expensive. Bring your credit card & be prepared to cry bitter tears.

If you take a bus from the `burbs make sure there is return service overnight, so you don't have to sleep at Port Authoity. Depending on traffic and how slow the cabbie is, cab fare from Port Authority will vary between $3.50 and $4.

For some reason, EVERY RonFez event over the last year, I had to work and was unable to go. I have a weird schedule and it changes every other week but for some reason, I missed everything.
