Ok, I am a New Yorker and I have been listening to the DC version of Ron & Fez and I have to say, i am dissapointed.
Has any one else noticed that their heart just isn't into it.
I mean I'm biased because they are ours, but last night they were just going through the motions. And it seems that the DC callers haven't gotten the theory behing the comedy piramid yet.
I wish them well, and I wan't them to be more funny.

I'm sure they'e quite flattered to hear that you think they suck friend.
Why don't YOU try to be happy when a majority of your fans are suddenly taken from you.

Dude, they miss NY, but they are starting over. Give it time, and it will pick up. Im not expecting extreme hilarity every night untill maybe the summer, they have to get their characters in line and meet some of us DC Ppl. So no worries man.

no.. they didnt suck.. but you can hear the disappointment. And that just makes it hurt more.
People from DC were calling in yesterday, and talking to them like they were a real talk show, Bill O'reiley or something, it was like they were missing the joke and noone wanted to fill them in.

I don't know what you mean. Since I live in the NYC area I no longer can hear Ron and Fez.

I agree the show didn't have the same vibe, but that's to be expected.
R&F and DC need some time to warm up to eachother before the Pyramids can really start. I don't think it reflected badly on either party.
Every talk show has it's own rhythm. Once everyone is in sync...it'll be the same old show, just with a different cast of callers.

Tonight was better. You also have to take the topics.
Last week they were talking about killing animals and last night they were talking about the space shuttle.
Not the kind of stuff to build a comedy pyramid with.
Tonight was better with the Billy and Rory in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles 2.
Thank you Ron and Fez for finally being live in DC again.
Ok let's get the boys back live in NY. Don't give up the fight.

Dudes, we have had R&F down here for over a year and a half. We had them on tape delay late night even before we had O&A. So hey, relax. NY is not DC and DC is not NY. You guys are making some broad generalizations about us DC listeners.

this is getting to me - what the fuck is your problem with DC - im not sure how many of you know this..its more you you want to ignore it - but ron and fez have been on in DC almost as long as they have been on in NY - the time period is so small - weeks i believe---back in the dot com dayz ron and fez were live in BOTH nyc and DC - they have always been on wjfk - since , just not live - and how soon you (NY) forget the terrible mid-day callers - give it time....for many this is a new show - geez.

The DC fans are my heroes. They have been very gracious in giving their time to keep the fire going. There is just not enough of them yet. It seems that Infinity wants them to cut all N.Y. ties. Ufortunately, it makes them start back at square one.
I didn't see anything, I didn't hear anything, I wasn't there and if I was there I was asleep.

it will just take a little time for the callers to get better,,i bet most of the time there wasn't even a caller on the line and the phones where empty,,ron and fez feed off the callers and when they don't have any they have to fill the show,,they are some funny bastards and when they where in NY they had people calling in on the smallest things to participate in the show, they are the best and i wish the the best in luck.
and yes i am in NY and my antenna stretches to uranus,, i get every station,,, but i still tune out lick-ass

I too am a from N.Y. listening to the show. I think we are just not used to it. All the regulars arent on. R&F have to build something new in D.C. give it time it will be just as good as you're used too. Also remember these guys have to think about moving and all that personal stuff. It's a lot to deal with. I'm sure they miss the N.Y. vibe, nothing is quite like it. Although I bet D.C. is pretty cool. Give it time.
Also be gratefull The D.C. people are working their asses off so people who can't here the show can read the show. Thats pretty cool of them. They don't have to do that.I think the D.C. fans ard very dedicated.

actually i think they are staying in NY until ronny's kid graduates high school,, thats what don and mike said last week
they are going to travel like they where when they where on both stations and just use a studio at west wood one in nyc.
i hope that they get back on the air before school lets out,,you know they won't move to DC if they don't have to.
at least corky would get along good in northern virginia

I agree that the show seems to lack a little something since the move, but everything that has been said is correct. It will take some time, but R&F will be great wherever they are.
And for those who think that last night's show sucked, all I got to ask is... DO YOU?
:)

Can the Powers that Be please come to their senses and realize that they've taken a top-notched, extremely popular show away from New York for no good reason other than their warped reasoning that the show did not fit into a format change on ONE station, and JUST GIVE IT BACK via another Infinity Station, even if it ends up being on AM????!!!!!!Sometimes Bureaucrats have the logic of an paramecium!!!

Am I the only one who is not crazy about comedy pyramids anyway? It was one thing when some callers called up and tried to be funny like their favorite hosts. It was another when they decided to refer to them as Comedy Pyramids. It was another when they recorded openings for it and started doing it multiple times a show.

I thought they were doing that just to pad the show out in the final days of WNEW.

I listen for Ron and Fez, not a bunch of callers with (usually pretty bad) one-liners.

my observations - 1 they really need Instant Feedback - it fed the show radio gold that kept the momentum going - just taking calls isnt fast enough
2 - it seems like they're trying to explain a lot of things as they go, which sort of makes the in jokes "unfunny" and kills the timing - If I hear about "gee Fez your girlfriend in ontario falls canada, the one we've never met, the one that doesnt exist.... "explained 1 more time I'm gonna barf. Once they get past explaining things it will pick up. Add I.F. and it will be better (esp since we'd be able to participate from ny :-) )

Agreed -- but in order to do that, WJFK will have to create an actual station website instead of the pathetic thing they have now.

Ron & Fez began their DC career 3 years ago LIVE at midnight after the junkies.
the show use to be called Ron and Fez.com
I live in DC and i still think NY had the best callers.
There was a lot of people at wjfk last night that didnt get on the air, but still came out and showed support.
But ya, the bottom line is, we need to do whatever we can to get them on in NY & Philly.
Are these calls & letters doing anything? whats the talk in NY? any rumors?

You guys have comedy gold coming out of you radio and you don't appreciate it while people in new york are chained to their computers reading recaps and looking for internet feed like crack addicts. It is truly sad. mad props to all the DC listeners keeping the show alive for us here in NYC.

The show in just DC is just fine. Sure, something is missed in not having many NYC callers, but it seems logical that things are going on behind the scenes to get them back on up there. Indeed, it would be in the DC fan's best interest to bitch to Karmazin [politely] and urge the suits to get them on in NYC

Ill try and put this as best I can.
Back when the show started in NY and DC as .com, it was starting. It had its funny parts but it was starting and was developing people to play important roles in the show.
Thats whats happening now, so you can't just say that the "DC ERA" sucks, because the DC era hasn't even lived for longer than 3 weeks.
Sure we got the show in October, but it was still a primarily NY show. Now its only DC, so give it time so build up.
Ya know?

I hope you're commenting on the comedy pyramid comment - I'm in NY and appreciate ANY R+F I can get. My point was it seems like they're explaining everything to the DC listeners, over and over - that's all. Once they get past that , things will pick up.
