Kingpin Thread!!

I am suprised that no one had started a new thread on this incredible new show.

I missed Sun. night because of work and I forgot to tape it but Tuesday's episode was amazing.

I found alot of similarities between Miguel Cadena and Michael Corleone. They are both extremely smart and the way the Miguel tortured the general by repeatedly shooting him with heroin seemed like something Michael would do.

This is already my favorite show after the Sopranos.

Kingpin is on Sun. and Tues. nights at 10 on NBC each a new episode. Check it out.

This is already my favorite show after the Sopranos.

I listened to Howard for 5 minutes this week...and heard him say the first funny comment in about 5 years, which leads me to believe he heard it elsewhere...but I digress.

They were talking about this show, and after the obvious similarities to the Sopranos, he referred to Kingpin as "The Sombreros."

Oh, he definately heard that elsewhere.

And yes there are similarities with the violence and crime aspects but I think the show has legs of its own to stand on.

More important than the question "does this show deserve a thread" is "does this thread deserve 2 exclamation points?" But as long as I'm here, I'll add my 2cents. I tried to watch this ripoff and just couldnt get into it. Youll always be saying, "god i wish this was on cable, they could really get away with some realism there".

Apparently, I am the only one who likes this show. There are definate similarities between Kingpin and the Sopranos: crime, family, violence.

But I think that it stands on its own. Even if it was a ripoff, that would still be good.

Another fantastic episode Sunday. I guess a whole thread wasn't necessary.
