Yo!
Its 2AM; just got back to the NJ shore.
Got to Hard Rock right at 9:30pm. Line was there but not too big. Cold as hell outside.
The place wasn;t set up for any event. In fact there were diners eating where the stage/floor section was. Looked a little weird; the Hard Rock as usual; not st up for a big event.
Saw Hard Rock Johnny on the way in; You Rock Johnny!
Got it and everyone was going upstairs. Like i said the floor was tables of people dining.
Pass Max Weinberg of the E-street band on the way in.
Was there about 20 mins when we hear the crowd downstairs; R+F + crew are in the building. Theres black Earl, Billy, Mikey D, and R+F; Ron in his usual trench-coat; and fez loving life in his Bucs jersey. There's Eddie Trunk over there.
So I'm upstairs and soon people start making the circuit upstairs; its sort of a big circle. I saw Billy first [yes he had on the orange shirt] he says hi; he looks good. In fact, the whole crew looke really good; relaxed, ready for a good time.
Ron and Fez are SUPER accesible; everyone's taking pics and R+F are signing Big A.S.S. cards. Fez is showing off his tattoo; hmmm... looks pretty good for a brand new tat....
I see Helen and French Bread. Here comes ron and you gotta love how he remembers everyone's name. Like mine, at least. He says hi and thanks for coming and we take a few pics [i'll send them to whoever, just let me know]. Ron with me next to him "Mike, could you be a little taller, I'm not completely out of the frame yet..." or something like that. One cool guy.
A door opens to a room a while later; and R+F+crew go in; looks VIP but it's not, anyone who felt like coming in was welcome. I get next to fez, he looks at me and says, "Mike, how the hell did you sneak in without me seeing you?!" [I'm 6 foot 5].
Anyway, there Eddie Trunk; and either Laverne or Shirley or both from the retarded L+S team; there's Stalker Patty [shocker!]; and I see a few others; like Green lantern and Shark.
I'm starving and its midnite so we go to leave and theres...Jimmy Norton! I say hi and as usual he looks too shocked to smile.
Anyway; it was great seeing you all; a different vibe entirely; as this was literally a non-event, just people hanging out with each other at the Hard rock.
Thanx all; I had a BLAST!!!!
