SunFlower Seeds

Does anybody else eat the shell along with the sunflower seeds? Personally I hate the fucking seed. I live for that salty shell, man...especially in the barbecue or cool ranch flavors. Of course when it comes out the other end it feels like I'm shitting a mace ball, but like everything that's bad for you....so good going in.

Just wondering if I'm the only one, or you do what my dad does...make sunflower seed shell mountains of spittle and shell....ugh, most disgusting habit ever.

I eat the shells, too, when I buy unshelled sunflower seeds. But more often than not I buy shelled seeds simply because they take up less space in my bad and require less chewing to eat, especially when mixed with other easy-to-chew items or in bread.

I really don't eat sunflower seeds too often, but I agree that the salty goodness of sunflower seed shells are the best part of that sodium-enriched treat.

I know a guy who eats shrimp, shell and all--if he's eating shrimp cocktail and the shrimp still has the tail and shell on the end, he just dips it all in sauce and pops it right into his snout.

I find that tasteless, repulsive...

...and perhaps slightly arousing. You never can tell with me.

When I quit smoking a few years ago I was absolutely addicted to sunflower seeds. I'd eat them by the pound. I never ate the shells, but I gave them up when I cracked a filling from chewing on them and had to have root canal performed.

MMMMMM I love Sunflower seed shells. It takes too much work to get to the seed with not enough satisfaction so I eat them shells and all. They should sell the salty shells by themselves.

first off they have to be David sunflower seeds... they are the best... no i don't eat the shell i just spit the shell on the ground... one of the best things about going to baseball game is just enjoying the weather and eating some seeds.. and of course beer as well... damn it now i can't wait for baseball season to start and go to my 13 games...

I'll eat sunflower seeds with the shells, but I also love eating peanuts with the shells. Extra fiber, yum!

I love and crave sunflower seeds. They're in my cabinet every day of the year. I don't just eat them outside, I'll take a nice bag of SALSA seeds, get a cup and spit the seeds into a cup.

I don't see how people can eat the shells. Do you purue the shell into a liquid? Doesn't it cut your throat on the way down?

Most of the people that I know that eat the shell is becuause they can't take the seed out of the shell in their mouth. It's a simple process: Break, Split, Spit!

position between upper and lower front teeth...
press teeth slightly together enough to seperate shell halves...
if seed does not freely depart from shell, extract seed with tongue...
spit shell...
eat seed...

do all this while you have a dozen or so other seeds waiting in the pouch of your cheek...
