You talking bumper skiing, right ?? I love that.....used to do it all the time. One time I got a good one and rode it for a mile......until I hit a dry manhole cover and spilled big time. The long and limping walk home was worth it. One time, a fat ass buddy of mine hitched on the side of a bumper, and as the car turned slightly, he caused the car to do a 180, and it sling shot him to the curb. It was kinda scary at the time, but after it was over we laughed all night.

What the hell is skitchin'? Is that where you grab the bumper of a bus and hope your mother doesn't have to go to a funeral that night?????

Yes and yes
A bus a truck a car, anything with wheels on the road.

The best had to be the UPS or other delivery trucks. Some would even tell us to get on, those were the ones you had to watch out for.

Grabbing the back of the school bus was always fun. About 6 or so would grab on and see how many stops you could go. We lived in the burbs, not at lot of traffic on the "back roads". There would be "dropouts" along the way,but their spot would be filled quickly. About 10 or 12 blocks was my "record".
I remember that the hike back seemed "really long".

why hoof it all the way back? just get on another car back to the start point.

I just had to do it! A little while ago I ran out and caught a skitch from a jeep, took it for 3 blocks and then got some other car back.

Could have hung on for much longer but just needed to get it out of my system.

snow rules!

I have not gone skitching in a long time. Those city buses while making a turn and then going down hill were great. Used to ride them a half mile or so.

you have two choices: Castration or a one way ticket to New York

Skitchin was the soul reason they added those side mirrors onto the back of the UPS truck.
