Hey guys I'm a big baseball person I don't think I know everything but I know a thing or two. If you guys want to know what id going to happen this season I think we should use this thread for any kinds of baseball related questions you guys might have. I'll answer them to the best of my ability.

I predict the Tampa Bay Devil Rays will come in last place in the East.

I predict this will not be the year of Ken Griffey Jr's "big comebackl".

I predict Mike Piazza will catch all the time...even when he's not in the line-up....fag...haha.

I predict ticket prices will also rise after this year.

Hm....well they all have the potential to win 20. It's just that their arms aren't getting any younger, Clemens is going to be 40, as is Wells. Pettite is going to be a free agent. The one thing that scares me about the Yankees is the bullpen. Noone knows how Mo will be Karsay is coming off of back surgery, Stanton and Mendoza are gone and we get Chris Hammond and Antonio Osuna, and Acevedo is no sure thing either. Starters these days win 20 games because they pitch 7 solid innings and the bullpen does a great job holding the lead, it remains to be seen what the bullpen will do. If the bullpen can't hold the stranglehold in the late innings it's hard to sy if any of the old Yankees arms will win 20.

I predict that my Red Sox will be in first place in the AL East until fourth of July. Then they'll slip behind the Yankees and will have to fight for the wildcard eventhough they will be 25 games above .500. Just like last year.

I predict that the Yankees will win the World Series and that the Dell interns will go down in a boating accident (I know that's not related to baseball but I thought I'd throw that in there since we're wishing for things).

I predict that if the spankees aren't on pace to have at least two 20 game winners they will go out and steal/buy/trade (same thing these days) for a few. Also, to pick division winners, just pick all the normal favorites and most will come through as with every year since '94' when baseball truly began to blow. Its not a sport anymore, its a monopoly. And who wants to watch the likes of all-star teams (yankees, braves and whoever purges this year/phillies and mets) battle against talent-less teams that resemble the Newark Bears and Montclair minor league teams (expos, devil rays, royals, blue jays). In fact, I'd rather watch the likes of the minor leaguers in person since they truly give their all in an effort to make the bigs. One year contracts should be manditory in all leagues. This way Ricky Henderson and the likes of slouchers until their contract years will have to prove themselves year in and year out to make the scratch they want. Then again, the spankees would sign every player coming off a great year and win (buy) more titles. Fuck baseball.

Ok..after my joke (obvious) predictions...let me give some of my serious predictions.

Al Leiter will have a better record and season then Glavine. The Yanks and Braves will win their divisions. With the Mets vieying for the Wild Card...they will end up going 90-72 and missing the playoffs. The Boston Red Sox will go 87-75 and Pedro will be hurt...again! (he can never stay healthy).

My sleeper pick...Oakland will win the West and the Mariners will come in 3rd place. One place ahead of Texas.

MVP's...Scott Rolen and M. Tejada
Cy Young's...Tim Hudson and Randy Johnson

Champs- Oakland and Atlanta (Atlanta will win it all)

My MLB Predictions

Yankees will win 100+ games and lose in the World Series to the Houston Astros in 6 games.
Both Chicago teams will make an impressive bid for the playoffs.
Derek Jeter will have a bounce back year with .320-25-90.
Alfonso Soriano will have another 30-30 season.
The Rally Monkey gets a beat down by the San Diego Chicken or Mr. Met!
The Big Unit's mullet returns!
The Milwaukee Brewers will lose 105 games and Richie Sexson will be traded after the All-Star Break.
Ken Griffey, Jr. will finally have a complete season under his belt after two years and have a .300-40-100 this time around.
The Cincinnati Reds for that matter will have the most outfield homeruns in baseball.
Boston will be the AL Wild Card, thanks to the Wonder Boy Theo Epstein's team of guys with no names but solid OBP (sans Manny and Nomar).
The Texas Rangers will finally have a winning record under the A-Rod Regime.
Edgardo Alfonzo will flourish in a Frisco lineup with Cruz. Jr, Durham, Aurilia and Bonds. Expect .315-28-95.
Barry Bonds will hit 50 homers and will walk 200 times.
Rey Ordonez will have a breakthrough year of .245-3-55. :)
Jose Hernandez will not tie or break the reverse strikeout record.
Tim Spooneybarger will win the Florida closer spot from Branden Looper.
Braves rotation will have 2 20 game wins again (choose between Maddux/Ortiz/Hampton).

New York Mets Predictions

Metropolitans will win 88-94 games (I'm an optimist as you guys and gals can see).
David Cone will get his 200th win as a long reliever and spot starter in the Met's pen.
Mike Lowell will become the starting Met third baseman before they go back to New York.
Esix Snead will make the team and when Cedeno falters, will take his starts and will unleash his tremendous speed on the NL (stole 345 bases in 5 minor league seasons). But he needs to learn to not be a slasher at the plate and take a walk (similar to Cedeno but rawer).
Mo Vaughn will hit a homerun in the upper upper deck in Shea Stadium. Expect 34-5 HRs.
Mike Bacsik will get the 5th slot in the rotation and Aaron Heilman will join the rotation near the end of the 2003 MLB season.
Jose Reyes will make his first SS start with the Mets after the All-Star Break.

The yanks and the Red sox will be close until early july and as usual as soon as it gets hot outside the curse of the babe kicks in and the red sox will crash. Yanks will go on to win the series

-glavine will win 18 games but the mets will still suck
-phillies will win the NL East
